Pretty deep SLDF roots on those IS mechs.  Interesting the Whitworth is the only current era mech associated with Amaris that was still being used and produced, even if the specific variant isn't used anymore.

To be fair, the Rifleman III only had ONE Prototype created, and it was destroyed in action in 2777.  The wreckage was discovered by RotS archaeologists in 3146.  Yes, the design Looks "Cool", as does the mini.  I doubt the claim it took out NINE SLDF 'Mechs, unless it got a large number of LUCKY head hits, given the small amount of ammo it had.   :-\  Only 2 tons of ammo (16 shots) for four Gauss rifles?  That's less than 1 minute of combat.  Better make those shots count!

Yes, it Thoroughly fills the role of "Rule of Cool".  But to include it with designs that actually made it into production is giving it much more credit than it deserves.   :-\

Granted, the XTRO: Gunslingers entry doesn't say "No construction information was found", simply that "Krupp has denied us access to their internal archives". (Whoever "Us" is.  People from RotS, I guess?)  Sadly, given that the RotS seemingly never took another look at it and put a "Riflemen III-B" into production (maybe using endo and more ammo), and Terra is now "Under New Management", I'm not sure TPTB could give us a new Production Model at this point.  It seems that Krupp only has facilities on Terra and Mars.   :-\

But, "Never Say Never!", and all that!
To me, Repros are 100% Wrong, and there's NO  room for me to give ground on this subject. I'm not just an Immovable Object on this, I'm THE Immovable Object. 3D Prints are just 3D Repros.

As I've stated in the past, I think the Rifleman III's kill count had to have been against mechs that were already severely damaged from prolonged combat.  One or two Gauss slugs was probably all it took to drop them.

Just got the Q1 mechs yesterday, put them all together.  Really like all three designs.

I wonder if the Rifleman III was a nod to the MFUK Jagermech IIC design.

It was hinted in the fluff of the Rifleman III that the Republic found the remains of the Rifleman III, they were researching it.  I forgot about it, but I guess they never reversed engineered a Republic version of the Rifleman III for the final showdown on Terra.  One-off mini, while I like would be bit...overkill to me. I'd rather piece one together for one-off that only got to be used...once.

There's a fair amount of one-off mechs that have art and no mini.  I've kitbashed a few.  The Rifleman III is certainly an nice peice to have, but it's not Yen-Lo-Wang in terms of popularity, among the general playerbase that would buy a mini to use.  Then again, YLW is a much cheaper mech to offer as a mini considering (at least now) its a simple parts swap instead of a whole new mini.

For the record, I'd still want to see the mechs from Unbound get minis. At this point they would probably need new art though.  :)

It could be a lead up to a second line design that the Wolves will start building after 3151 or we just haven't seen a Rifleman III in use by the RoTS during the Invasion.

Any word on the Classic T-Bolt Variant, or the "New" Commando Variant?  (Or were we even getting one of the latter?)  I know they were due out earlier ibn the year, alongside the others, but we haven't heard anything about them in quite a while.   :'(

Yes, I realize "Covid", but again, we've had no word for several months aside from "They were delayed".  :-\

Or are we getting them at . . . Gen Con maybe?

I'm just EAGER to give IWM money for new T-Bolts!    :excited:

I think it's probably because it's already July.  Q2 ended a month ago.
