Raider JL-1 & JL-2 renders

EDIT : different angle of renders can be seen on Aries. Alternating between the two versions,
it looks like the MRM-pod and right hands (empty/RAC2) are separate/interchangeable parts.

I hope Catalyst gets a fixed record sheet for the Crucible 2 out now that the mini is coming soon.

That's how we wanted it! That's what I'll be buying!

How are they made? Is that blender or is that just a regular CAD program?

Hi, artist behind the Amarok model here. Are you asking for the renders that are shown, or the models themselves?

Alan Blackwell made the Raider and both myself and Alan use Blender to model. The renders shown, I have no idea, but I can safely say it's not Blender and is probably a free 3D file viewer - I suspect even just Windows 3D Viewer.

Here is a render for the Amarok that I did in Blender recently for comparison and general viewing pleasure of the forum.

Appreciate the extra info and your work! For whatever reason your rendering shot is much more flattering to the sculpt. There's something a big off about the first pic, but that won't matter once we get actual mini pics. I am sooo excited for the Amarok!

Am I looking at it correctly when I say it looks like the Amarok has the same arms as the Hammerhead?

Definitely very similar, which is in line with the fluff behind the design's development. I would imagine the Amarok's arms are significantly larger, and you can see that the hands are similar but not identical. Hammerhead has three equi-spaced claws and the Amarok has a two-finger/one middle gripper setup.

The legs also have a lot of design similarities. There's really a lot of things that are shared outside of that if you look carefully

@Joewrightgm

My point is that there appears to be a single right arm with interchangeable parts for
JL-1 and JL-2 variants, as opposed to two complete right arms (one for each variant).

Iirc they give a month or two for other vendors to sell them before they go live from IWM directly. But it should be soon given that timeline.

If it's in blender, I wonder if it could be animated.  ;D  Looks good, though I'm not in love with claw like hands.

Just received my Raider thru a German retailer. Very nice sculpt.

Kit consists of following parts : front torso / rear torso (power plant) / pelvis + upper legs / lower legs + feet
/ left arm / and (contrary to what I was expecting) 2 complete right arms (1x JL-1, 1x JL-2)..

Yeah, I just got the Crucible, Raider, and Sojourner B through Aries.  I have not opened them up yet but look forward to putting them together over the weekend.  Anyone who put the Crucible able to tell me what the '2' parts are in the kit?

Ah, have not opened it up and the blister is rather full, lol.  FREX, easy to see the MRM & RAC arm on the Raider . . . I might have to magnetize that one.
