Upcoming Releases XXI: Urbie's Beer Run
« on: 03 September 2021, 13:16:40 »
Turning Points: Helm Now Available and New Gray Death Legion Fiction Coming Soon!

Tamar Rising is just around the corner, but BattleTech fans always want to know what’s next! We’re thrilled to finally share those details with you in a major update to the Coming Releases page.

But wait! Before you go check that out, we’ve got more news to share. Available now is a brand-new installment in the Turning Points series, Turning Points: Helm.

We wanted to make sure you had this in your hands to get in the mood for all things Gray Death Legion, because coming in the next few days is Rock and a Hard Place, an all-new Gray Death Legion novel by William H. Keith! Set during the Legion’s earlier days, the book is the first new GDL fiction by Bill in nearly 25 years, and we could not be more excited to read all-new adventures of Grayson, Lori, and the Legion.

Be on the lookout for an announcement about Rock and a Hard Place in the next few days here, on the official BattleTech forums, and on our social media–we’ll let you know as soon as it’s available!

Turning Points: Helm
Price: $5.99 (PDF Only)

The Gray Death Legion: Mercenaries betrayed by their employer and betrayed from within. Mariks and ComStar oppose them. Can Grayson Carlyle lead his command out of the trap that has ensnared them? Only quick, decisive action and determination will see them survive overwhelming odds.

Helm: A world of glaciers, tundra, rock-filled deserts, barren seas, and an ancient Star League secret. That secret could destroy the Legion and move humanity another step closer toward darkness. Or one step closer toward salvation. Helm and humanity’s future lay in the grasp of an outlawed mercenary unit.

Turning Points: Helm uses Chaos Campaign rules to give players the option of fighting individual battles or to follow a campaign arc. Included are a detailed map of the world of Helm, a run down of the forces involved, and scenario tracks recreating the battles on Helm.

Excellent title selection. Looking forward very much to the TPs.
Alas poor Photobucket. I knew him Horatio, a fellow of infinite jest, of most excellent fancy.

Wow tons of stuff.

Good update, and a bone to the 3025 grognards.

I’m very interested in the MadCat/Stalker combo on rec guide 20.

Shrapnel 6 is listed twice, I assume the second one should be 7?

Couple of RecGuide cover previews on the "Coming Soon" page.

My favourite bit is this though :

And make sure to keep an eye out for updates from Iron Wind Metals, as we’re working closely with them on producing miniatures for the ’Mechs debuting in the RecGuide.

And there are several new Mechs hidden in the Empire Alone art as well :

1st image : Ostroc vs. Griffin IIC, burning Locust IIC in the foreground
and possibly (squints) a jumping Dervish in the background ?

2nd image : Caesar and Assassin on the ridge

Oh, WOW.  Was Helm announced beforehand in any way and my memory is continuing to slip, or is this a surprise to everyone?

Whoops. Fixed, thanks.

Hey, if that's all I screwed up in this update, I'll take it.

Not announced previously.

Due to some jerk named Cubby holding it up to try to time it ahead of "Rock" coming out, only to have to post it without build-up to stay ahead of fiction. That guy is the worst.

Some very cool stuff on the Coming Releases page, I'm definitely looking forward to the BattleTech Universe book. And all the new art continues to blow my mind every time I see more of it.

Thanks for taking the time to put this together, Cubby!

I skipped the art the first time and looked only at the texts. I went back and looked at it, it’s pretty dang cool. I like the star league unit moving through the pass there, kinda need to see the huge formation like that

BattleTech Universe includes sections for all of the major factions of the Inner Sphere and Clan Homeworlds, offering concise histories for each from their founding through 3150.

So uh. Am I reading that right that we’re getting info on the post reaving fate of the homies?

Also that atlas is a nice homage to the cover of 3205r

I revised the page, sorry for the lack of clarity. All factions are covered, but the story of the Homeworld Clans beyond what we already know will not be advanced in this book.

Can you share if any of those post ilClan source books will be dropping with updated RATs?   Or are we going to be using FM3145 for a while longer?

Edit:  And if we are using FM3145...  will it get a POD treatment?

Oh wow. We can all see the updated griffin IIC now. I think it’s punching one of the Ost mechs? And there is an updated QuickDraw jumping around in the back too. (Picture next to empire alone announcement)

Could be..

my assumption is based on the fact that the Mech has got two rectangular side
torsos (which corresponds to Bishop Steiner's Dervish on Anthony's Patreon)
