I just bought a copy of StratOps online to replace a copy that went missing.

I was under the impression that it was a Retro cover (with the Samurai),  but I'm now realizing that it's a different version with "Advanced Aerospace Rules" as the subtitle.
And its smaller, 192 pages vs 300+?

Whats missing?

Also are the versions of Interstellar Operations different? (other than cover art)

The new edition cut a bunch of stuff and moved them to... mmm, not exactly sure. Think some stuff went to new version of Campaign Operations, such as customization rules, and BattleForce and miniature rules. As the subtitle implies, it focuses mostly (completely?) on aerospace stuff.

StratOps is now Aero only. I believe the campaign stuff is going to the next edition of CampOps, and the BF stuff... I'm not sure if they've announced what book that's getting moved to.

Are there any differences in the versions of Interstellar Ops?

There hasn't been a different version of IO yet.
There will be.

So the difference is only the cover art?

I'm sure it will be more than that, given how much moved from StratOps to CampOps...

The second image is the old cover art for the beta; it was never used as a cover beyond that.

The new IO will be in two volumes, with the content split up and SO's Battleforce folded in.  We haven't seen the covers for these books yet.

The Beta version was sold as a published book?
Is it a different version?

I only ever had the pdf version of IO, so I'm going to get a hard copy, just trying to figure it out

The beta version was not published: it was PDF only.

The first image is the cover for the first and only printing (so far) of the full (non-beta) release IO, in both print and PDF.

its strange, a couple of online merchants are purporting to be selling the (unreleased) Beta version.

I suspect that they just screen grabbed the first image that Google offered up

Plausible, or they listed the product when the beta was announced and haven't gotten around removing wrong images or listings.

I know a local gaming store whose site showed Clan Invasion expansion for a long, long time (because once upon time such thing was floated around for the previous boxed sets), and still have Shadows of Faith novel listed... AS far as i can tell, they remove stuff once someone tries to orders something and they find it isn't actually a thing.

Yeah, a lot of entries stay as they were first created.  It's why the Amazon page for the BMM still shows the 1st printing image, which is now two covers old.

To expand upon this it was only used for the Force Creation and Operations and Solar System Creation Betas, my beta full rules PDF has the final cover at with a big fat BETA logo just below the main text, and I don't think there where two releases of that.

I’ve got all the older books except I missed A Time for War. There’s nothing new in these differently laid out books right? Oh

For ATOW, besides errata incorporation, the character creation chapter has been extensively reorganised.  Campaign Ops and Strat Ops are also very different books in their modified later forms.  With CO the new stuff is all material relocated from SO (though it's sometimes been heavily modified as well, as with the Customization & Repair and Quirks material), while with SO it's largely due to the removal of material.
