Any Recommendations For A Cheap Lathe?
« on: 27 July 2022, 09:02:44 »
Looking to slim down the ends of some clear acrylic flight stands I bought so they'll fit into the holes present on IWM 'Mech-scale fighters. Don't need anything super fancy, I don't count on using it all the time, and would ideally prefer to keep the price under $150. Anyone have any recommendations?

Can you just put them in a drill?

A Dremel with some of the ceramic conical bits would work just fine. Unless you need an actual lathe for a big project.

Or a end grinder or a right angle grinder would work just fine too.

If you do need a lathe for some reason, I recall Adam Savage talked about some portable ones for starters at one point in his Q&A videos. Don't remember which one so it might take some online sleuthing.

I imagine it would be easier to grab a sharp blade and scrape the end until it fits.
