BattleTech Open Tournament Rules

Regarding 6.1.1, what are Catalyst “gameboard” quality maps? Is this referring to the neoprene mats?

Also, is there a newer version than 3.1?

3.1 is the current ruleset.

The "gameboard" quality refers to any of the premium maps that Catalyst has used. The gameboards, neoprenes, any of them. They do not line up with the paper maps and therefore are ineligible.

Thank you for the answer.

Could you elaborate on "they do not line up"?

The hexes are not the same size. Therefore when you put a gameboard and a paper map sheet next to each other, the hexes do not match.
