Well, one of the Harbaugh teams is Michigan based....

No Deebo and maybe no McCaffery or Trent Williams.  Gonna be a really wonky game offensively for San Fran if those three cats don't play.

I’m less interested in the game than getting away from the tens of thousands coming to see it

The over/under is 43.5. With all the injuries I expect the under

No team has ever gone to a Super Bowl after losing to Kirk Cousins in that season. It's a weird stat, but it's true.

So... maybe next year, SF.

Eyeball test to me said the Niners without Trent Williams are easier to pressure and don't run the ball near as effectively.  No offense to the backup.

I had a feeling they were doomed when I saw the 49ers falling into a yawning garbage pit of failure and suck was the only way to keep the Bears from being the only team in their division to notch a win this week.  The Bears had that moment in the sun, reality had to come crashing down on them somehow, and so the 49ers had to fall.  It was simply fate.

Or they accidentally carried something back from the Factory of Sadness that's going to hang around the 49ers' collective neck like an albatross until they can beat the Browns and make amends to the nameless entities that reign in football Hell.

It certainly is something, that the Lions and the Red Wings scored the same number of points on the same day...

The Lions got their tails kicked....and you can hear people get off the bandwagon.
I'm a forever-Detroit fan, but I'm not going to write this Detroit season off over a single game. I also certainly don't, and haven't, expected a Super Bowl run from them - though as I've said before, we Detroit fans can dream...

Detroit was made irrelevant by one bad game the same way Denver's season was salvaged by beating the Packers.

Nope. Takes more than one regular-season game in October to ruin or fix a season. Now, a FEW games, like what we're seeing suddenly from the 49ers, or the couple of concerning 'wait, so you can only run up the score on bad teams?' games from Miami, that's different.

My posts are just commenting on the talk in our area, memes being part of that.  Everyone is bagging on the Lions now, but the seats will still be filled for the rest of the season.

All good, the meme was a good one! :cheesy:

I think opinions will shift back in favor of the Lions as long as they return to form. But, considering the history of the franchise, any sign of faltering will immediately have people pointing fingers. It's going to take years of playing well and consistently to erase that stigma.

I'd honestly like to see the whole NFC North become a strong division. I guess after years of watching the Lions struggle, I don't personally feel an intense rivalry. I have similar feelings about the collegiate Big Ten Conference, though I prefer certain teams over others...

Exactly.  If the Lions can keep up a solid 30 or 40 seasons playing at this level, we'll eventually see .500 as a franchise!  azn

The Lions at 5-2 under Dan Campbell have my confidence. The last two seasons they had horrible starts and ended on positive streaks ( 0-10-1, finished 3-13-1, then 1-6 last year and finished 9-8). I’m sure he’ll get them back to gnawing off knee caps in short order here.

Unbelievably ass game in the battle for the medowlands. 27 punts. 3-32 combine on third down. Overtime. Giant’s QB sounds like he had a fake name. Clown shit. Worst game I’ve seen since jets-cardinals in 2012 where some imposter named Ryan Lindley snuck onto the field and played QB for the cards.

It is common agreement that Achilles = retirement, yes? It's still too soon to see but does that mean the Curse of Kirk might be broken this season?

Not really, no. Sports medicine has come a long way in the past 20-30 years. The athlete is definitely diminished though. There is a zero percent chance he’s back this year and most likely not be back by opening day next year.

The bandwagon is taking a tour of Detroit this morning.
Just remember it took multiple seasons for the Lions to get 6 wins.

I'd just like to take a moment to congratulate the Kansas City Chiefs on managing to put up fewer points and allowing more points against the Denver Broncos than the ongoing cheese wedge-shaped implosion that is the Green Bay Packers.

Detroit was made irrelevant by one bad game the same way Denver's season was salvaged by beating the Packers.

What about making the Chiefs look even worse than the Packers?  Does that salvage anything?

Interesting graphic here.  It displays many things that some of us already knew, but perhaps more that we did not know.  It's mostly football-oriented, though the hockey fans may get a laugh out of the Canadian part.

I can say that the Michigan and Ohio parts are entirely accurate.
