https://www.nfl.com/news/bengals-qb-joe-burrow-has-torn-wrist-ligament-to-miss-remainder-of-2023-season

It seems the Steelers are an injury to Lamar Jackson away from having the best quarterback in the division.

Maybe I misheard but supposedly this injury occurred a week ago, the game prior to Thursday (and they HID IT)

  OK! Is it me or have a lot of QB going down of late. I don't remember seeing this many QB going down in 50 years of watching the NFL. My first 9 years were else where from 59 year on this earth. I see another strange NFL season for this year.

Lions win against the Bears after trailing most of the game.  The comeback was completed in the last few minutes of the 4th quarter.

Goff threw 3 interceptions against the Bears' defense that was rated 26th in the league vs the pass.

Everything is screaming that there are Big Problems if you are coming back to beat Chicago this season.

This has been alleged and evidently the NFL is looking into it but he did look pretty good up until he went out of the game.  They could just still be salty because Tom Brady got away with it for a whole season.

Hey look Tom Brady was a Cyborg for years and the NFL never cared..

Yep he was wearing a compression sleeve while on the plane, but he looked good until that TD Pass.

I took this game more positive: Detroit didn’t implode, they kept in it, Goff actually recovered from his early (bad) mistakes, and the defense came through and sealed the game. But yes, I’d rather they just streamrolled Chicago instead of making it close.

On another note, what’s the most unsafe place to be in the NFL? Leading by 8 or less against a Russell Wilson led team with about 3 minutes left in the 4th. Still about 40 seconds left, but by god, I don’t think Russell’s ever heard a fat lady sing.

Can't argue there, though I can clarify - I'm just concerned about when we will see an implosion.

It was the same Broncos. The defense suddenly looks monstrous (credit to Vance Joseph for turning things around, genuine kudos), and an offense that is genuinely offensive. Russ actually threw a couple of good passes last night- that last TD to Sutton was a dart!- but most of his plays are still the panic-checkdown passes to his right for a two-yard gain, the running game has been mostly crap, and the penalties are just soul-crushing. The record shows a four-game win streak, but game tape shows a team that managed to win via luck and/or turnovers over KC, Buffalo, and Minnesota. Those could just as easily be losses, and I wouldn't bat an eye.

Buuuuut, even that kind of momentum is a nice change from the start of the year, or last year for that matter (or really everything since 2015), so... okay, four in a row, keep it going against the Browns I guess? I don't have to understand it- or even like it- to get a little satisfaction out of it.

Well in Perna's last top ten video he put the Broncos one and two.

But truly only Jadehellbringer probably understands without having to actually watch everything Perna's put out for the last season and a half.

And of course the sheer chaos of the collab videos Perna does with Tom Grossi give me no small amount of entertainment either.

One thing about the Lions - Chicago game is divisional games can always be crazy.  If there's going to be a WTF game it's either a Cowboys - Niners game or any divisional game.  :D

I was just dismayed that the Bears looked like they might pull an upset.  But crisis averted in the final minutes.  It just does go to show - anything can happen, there are no guarantees.

I'm not sane enough to bet on any kind of sports.  I take all the internet talk about officials influencing games due to payoffs from gambling on the NFL, NHL, NBA, etc, seriously enough to not let them have my money that easily.  It all tracks.

I'll stick to poker.

I put a pair of $5 bets down on the Texas Rangers to win the WS this year with the expectation that they would make the playoffs and I could cash out with a small profit. I cashed one out for a small profit and rode the other to a nice payday!

The last time I bet on a NFL game I was sure that bastard Norwood could kick a 47 yard field goal.  I was wrong.

Turkey Day: Revenge of the Pack.

Lions fall to the Packers.  But everyone ate dinner and took a nap, so we're not too grumpy about it.  Have a few drinks and enjoy the night.

As an appetizer you can watch Iowa at Nebraska in college ball. It has an o/u of 24.5, the lowest in modern memory. There could be 20 total punts. Absolutely astounding levels of ineptitude.

Iowa played Northwestern at Wrigley Field this year.  It was the sixth highest scoring game at that stadium this year.

The other five were baseball games.

Iowa's combination of historically bad offense and very good defense is incredible, in the sense that I am incredulous at it

They hit the under, 😂, 23 total points. Watching Texas v Texas Tech and saw the “highlight” during halftime. It started with “one minute left” and the score was 10-10, 😂

It was performance art

Back to back interceptions with time running out. Then Iowa was just going to set up a long field goal or overtime and accidentally ran for 22 yards into the red zone and walked off with the field goal.

Nebraska lost.
People who bet Nebraska -2.5 lost.
People who bet the over lost.
People who bet Iowa under ten wins lost.
Nebraska didn’t make a bowl game.
Iowa will play for the big ten championship and was one bad call on a punt return against Minnesota from being a serious playoff contender.
Their most valuable player is their punter.
The most wins a team has accumulated previously with this few yards per game was *four*
This offense is an affront to god and man.

Kirk Ferentz, you beautiful bastard. 10/10 no notes
