I pay zero attention to position coaches as they are largely disposable so this was a surprise for me. He was a solid dude as a player and should in theory understand the Patriot Way. Culture building and continuity is an important piece of sustained success. Will be interested to see what he brings to the on field product (presumably besides a new QB in the draft)

There's a lot of talk about this being the plan in Foxborough.  Bill move to the side but already knowing who the replacement would be.

Man, if I were the Bears I'd probably be very eager to take a Patriot 1st next year with some other sweeteners for trading down to #3. Marvin Harrison Jr., another year to evaluate Fields and a very good shot at #1 yet again in 2025.

If they are going to choose between shots of Taylor Swift or closeups of Andy Reid's frozen mustache I vote for more Taylor Swift please.  I really don't need to be thinking about WHAT's frozen in Andy Reid's mustache.

Guess i no longer have interest in this thread this year :/ Wow, Houston literally DEFFED on CLE. Not beat, man handled, literally took a dump on us. I hope they go all the way (minor pleasure if both PIT and BAL are shown the exit at first opportunities...)

The real interesting issue is when Creepio returns. Who stays or goes next season?

it was competitive until flacco threw the back to back pick 6s. i'm surprised it took houston that long to realize joe is a granite statue with cement bags tied to his feet so you should just blitz the house on anything resembling a passing down. man is not getting away.

in other news, it was so cold in KC that Mahomes' helmet broke

Super busy week and a half for me, so I’ve barely had time to keep up with the coaching changes, but wow, Bills out and Mayo is in? Interesting to see how that goes, but it had to end sometime. Carroll out, too.

As to the games. Good for Houston, they looked like they belonged and they took that Flacco Cinderella story I was kind of rooting for and made it look like Joe had been chilling on his couch and throwing the ball to neighborhood kids until a few weeks ago 😳

Chiefs. They’ll have to rely heavily on their defense, and it held up well today. Miami’s defense played a lot better than I thought they would, but their offense played even worse than I expected. Tua looked like he was heaving a boulder every time he threw the ball.

Only got two games today, really looking forward to Lions/Rams and Packers/Cowboys should be interesting.

Wall to wall coverage of the Lions and Rams game today in Detroit.
It makes since Stafford is back after being traded to and its a playoff game, which hasn't happend in 29 years.

My best friend moved to Dallas, so I find the Packers being up 27 points in the 2nd quarter hilarious.

Well, it’s going to be a fun Monday in Texas tomorrow. It’ll either be how Dallas needs to blow everything up and now is Jerry’s perfect chance to get Bill Belichick, or Dallas came back from 27-0 and is Super Bowl bound and also the greatest thing since sliced bread (again). Either way, and personally I’m hoping for the later, it’ll be fun. I have to hand it  to Green Bay though; they’ve out played and out coached Dallas so far (12 seconds to halftime).

Big win for the Lions. Keep that momentum building. Just don’t forget you’ve got a great O-line and two great running backs. Goff shouldn’t have to do it all. They may get really lucky and get that Matt Patricia coordinated defense at home next week, though.

Regardless, kudos to Detroit. The Lions have accomplished more than they probably realize today, just by getting the win.

Not sure why anyone is “surprised” by Dallas bowing out early. It’s darn near the most guaranteed thing in sports since about 1996. It’s actually so common, it’s losing the satisfying feel and just becoming one of those 🥱 moments, 😂. Still, looking forward to tomorrow at work and on sports radio; it’ll be like someone kicked over a beehive full of Armageddon, especially here in Texas, 😂.

The craze in Detroit of the Lions wining is crazy!! Can't go 30 seconds about hearing it.
I think it's funny that most of the people are talking how the Lions dominated the game....I must of missed that.

they jumped out to an early lead and did just enough to not give it away.

next week for the pack is a big hurdle, but the funniest result possible of a Packers @ Lions NFC championship game is still in the cards.

Even funnier if it’s Houston @ Buffalo (providing today’s game goes to Buffalo) for the AFC Championship…Houston v Green Bay could honestly be one hechuva unexpected exciting entertaining shootout type of Super Bowl.

objectively the funniest AFC championship game would have been PIT@CLE. mike tomlin utilizing the cover of winter to launch a surprise superbowl run would be outstanding

The funniest currently possible AFFCG outcome is PIT@KC purely for the volume of complaining about the streak continuing.

Here’s to Mahomes’ first playoff game not at Arrowhead (excluding Super Bowls).

Ooookaaaay... obviously that all went exactly the way we all predicted.

I'll take Baltimore over Houston, Kansas City over Buffalo, San Francisco over Green Bay, and Detroit over Tampa.

The way this season has gone, any of the underdogs are more than capable of pulling an upset. Were I a betting man, I'd avoid all of these games like the plague.

True enough. I didn't have a good feeling about Dallas going into this because I've lived in the past 30 years, but I sure didn't think it would be quite that lumpy of a loss. Philly... that team never looked GREAT this season at all. Even at 10-1 at one point, some of those wins were nail-biters that made them look pretty 'eh'. Even then, that was an absolutely epic collapse by a team that should have had the talent to roll over just about anyone in the NFC. Staggered.

I do want to take a moment though to recognize that, for a guy who was a game-time decision whether he'd even be able to play, Baker Mayfield looked like a BEAST during that game. Dude got a raw deal in being run out of Cleveland the way he was, and I'm thrilled to see him land on his feet like this. He's going to get a pretty good contract somewhere this offseason after what he's done this year in Tampa, and he deserves it.

If Tampa's smart they'll get him signed to a deal this off season.

Should be a wild off season really.
