Hi all,
I'm curious as to if any of you have gotten any of the older Mech PC games working on recent (Windows 10/11) PC's. I burned maaaaaaaaany an hour on the Mechwarrior 2 trilogy and the 2 MechCommander games (among the others but those games especially) back in the day, and was wondering if anyone has gotten them working on anything recent. I probably COULD build a retro PC running Windows 98 for such things, but I'm looking for something easier (okay, I wanna be lazy with it LOL).

If anyone has some info, that would be awesome.

Thanks all!

MW2 trilogy: Use Dosbox. Use the DOS versions. Remember to apply whatever patches there are for each game. MechVM sets everything up for you in case you want that.
Mechcommander 1: Use the Darkest Hour mod and run the game in 1080p https://www.moddb.com/mods/mechcommander-gold-hi-res/downloads/mcg-darkest-hours-fullversion
Mechcommander 2: Should be able to work otherwise check https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/MechCommander_2
MW3: Use NGlide. https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/MechWarrior_3
MW4: Use NGlide or simply launch https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/MechWarrior_4:_Mercenaries

Mechwarrior 2 has been the easiest to run in my experience because it has MS-DOS versions you can just pop into Dosbox. You may find that you have issues trying to connect a mouse with it, but I just replayed all of those games on keyboard only with no problem after my ancient muscle memory kicked in.
