Overview:
In this Document, it'll be discussing a mech from a branch in the timeline that
was a 60 ton crude but effective Primitive Battlemech. This mech is simply
known under the meaningful name of Lamenter.


Capabilities:
Being a Retrotech Battlemech weighing in at 60 tons, the Lamenter did find
niches during the latter half of the third sucession war. Being a Simpler and
easier to produce and maintain design. The Lamenter for all of it's
shortcomings makes up for it's protection with decent firepower and mobility.


For Mobility it is equipped with a Chysler Classic 290 Primitive Fusion Engine.
Giving the same top speed as inner sphere line formations. this is one of the
two main things that were picked as priority in the mechs design when the
Company that was building them for clients mainly mercenaries and dispossessed
house mechwarriors.


For Firepower it comes equipped with mainly off the shelf weapons systems still
in circulation and production at the time. Twin Medium lasers in tandem with
one LRM-10 and one SRM-4 make up the bulk of the mechs firepower. As it was
described as a poor mans Quickdraw in this department and lacked the Jump jet's
that made the mech it was compared to famous.


For Protection, the mech comes clad within fifth teen and a half tons of
primitive plating. A Decent amount of protection even by Succession wars era
standards. Though this is not an ideal type of armour to use, the Lamenter was
ment to be a stop gap design until when and if lostech begun to resurge within
the inner sphere.


The main Selling point during the latter half of the third succession war for
this primitive design, was it's cost. Costing about as much as a medium mech
being made on standard technology. this 60 ton behemoth was seen as desirable
for use within both house and mercenary units alike.


Battle History:
Introduced onto the battlefields of the third succession war in the later half
of the 30th century by March 2995. Prototypes were ready by 2990 but the tests
went so well that production was order to start within the next five years.


when it was beginning to see use in various House militaries and within several
Mercenary Units until the discovery of the helm memory core in 3028 and the
widespread dissemination of the core over the course of the late 3020s to early
3030s when Lostech and Introtech begun to become more common again.


Most of the Production line started to wind down after the fourth succession war
and slowly were being mothballed for newer designs. Until the 3070s when the
Word of Blake launched it's religious war on the inner sphere. Old Factories
were being brought back online to bolster inner sphere units and have remained
in service since the end of the Blakist assault on the inner sphere.
