Common Engine Components
« on: 20 July 2011, 07:13:06 »
I've always liked the idea of building combat units around common components to try and cut down on a force's logistical trail. I have a quick question about common engines: based on StratOps the cost of an engine includes both the engines rating and the unit's tonnage, making say a good old Vlar 300 on an Atlas significantly more expensive than the same engine in a Marauder. Despite the cost difference, could I still pull an engine from one of the mechs and use to in the other, or are common components actually only in common for a given mass? Does Vlar not just make one 300 engine, but rather distinct 300 engines for 100 tonners, 75 tonners, etc.?

Cheers,
LCC
