MWO August Patch Update - New Weapons

So, this is happening.

Three new weapons are being added to MechWarrior online.   
  • All the HAG
  • All X-Pulse Lasers
  • Binary Laser Cannon (Aka the Blazer Rifle)
Along with some tweaks to existing designs.

WEAPON ADJUSTMENTS
LRM 5/10/15/20 (Clan and IS)

Missile speed is reduced to 190 m/s (from 210 m/s) - This change affects the Direct fire speed at the same percentage


Streak SRM 4 (Clan and IS)

 Increased minimum heat penalty limit to 5 (from 4) - Can fire 4 with no penalty

'MECH AGILITY ADJUSTMENTS
Banshee BNC-3S (Agility stats have been changed to be similar to the rest of the Banshee variants)

    Increased Acceleration to 24.64 kph/s (from 17.72)
    Increased Deceleration to 21.05 kph/s (from 18.68)
    Increased Turn rate to 50.42 deg/s (from 45.26)

'MECH ADJUSTMENTS
Rifleman RFL-3N

    Energy weapons on the Arms now use the higher secondary arm hardpoint

Rifleman RFL-8D, RFL-5D

    Energy weapons on the Arms now prioritize the higher secondary arm hardpoint then lower

Rifleman RFL-DB

    Energy weapons on the Left Arm now prioritize the higher secondary arm hardpoint then lower

SKILL TREE ADJUSTMENTS
Enhanced ECM Skill Nodes

    Node values for Clan mechs ONLY are reduced to 16.5% (from 20%)

Magazine Capacity Skill Nodes

    Nodes now provide +8 rounds of Hyper Assault Gauss Rifles

GAMEPLAY ADJUSTMENTS
Mech HUD

Components on the player and enemy paper doll now flash twice quickly, taking only 0.5 seconds before updating the color on the paper doll, giving the player information about self or enemy damage status much quicker. Currently, paperdoll components flash three times, taking 1.5 seconds before updating the damage status.
   
The domination circle indicator on minimap and battle grid now uses a clearer green color with distinct outlines for better visibility on a wide range of maps

Clan 'Mechs and Omnipods with Existing Ammo Bonus Quirks

    All Variants with Existing Ammo Bonus Quirks
    Included HAG ammo bonus per ton in ammo bonus group at consistent %

    Removed -10% Energy cooldown from SO8

What weird is that the Binary Laser Cannon (tabletop name Blazer (Rifle) /Binary Laser) stats seems to have been reserved.  Essentially it doing more damage than heat, while the original does the opposite. I remember people having through it should be that way, but it's 12 damage / 16 heat is now opposite,  18 damage / 13 heat in MWO.  Which would be completely game breaking in Table top, but....in MWO i don't think it makes difference since there like warm up period that keeps you from abusing it.

I'm surprised there's still no sign of LACs if they're doing later stuff like X-Pulse.

They're likely deliberating on it or don't like the idea of a large laser sized ballistic for whatever reason.

If they ever did add an LAC 2/5, I'd expect them to be burst fire and slightly longer to reload to balance the size out, alongside shorter range.

I'd also love Plasma Rifles/Cannons at some point for some of that sweet anti-energy spam stuff, though I haven't played MWO often enough in the past year to feel educated on the subject sufficiently enough to know if something to keep energy boats like that in line is warranted or even in the cards.

If the LACs were added, they'd need think if were possible to add the special munition to them.  Essentially aside from the weight savings, its only other reason have a LAC or even old autocannon is optional ammo.

I played MWO for the first time in many months tonight.  HAGs are pretty neat!  But what the heck did they do with the Nightstar?!  I know that adjustment was made awhile ago but tonight's the first time I've seen it!  They should've angled the arms forward like the Marauder instead of making them stubby.  It's a Marauder relative, not a Rifleman relative  :cussing:
