The first 8 eps of Secret Level dropped last night. Pretty, but it's fairly shallow overall. Lots of them feel more like setups for series rather then complete stories inside themselves, but I didnt expect much out of 10-15 minute shorts.

First 20 minutes of skeleton crew. Err... Not what i expected

Latest episode had some EU callbacks (well, at least one or two), and some other interesting stuff.

Crimson Jack returns!

Well, kind of.

Star Wars has their own version of The Hidden.

Well, kind of.

We Still Kill the Old Way (1967) Italian crime film about a womanizing man who is murdered after receiving multiple death threats, and his friend who tries to find out who really did it. I thought the whole thing was half baked, and slow. Gian Volante stars (the bad guy from Clint Eastwood's A Fistful of Dollars) Rating: 4/10

I guess you mean ''Once upon a time in the west''  :cheesy:

I hope it was the full run (European) version.  :cheesy:

I still love the end duel. Moricone's music is awesome!

You should show them the ''Man with no name'' trilogy next and finish with ''A fistfull of dynamite''. I used it as an example in one of my organic chemistry classes a long time ago to the delight of my teacher remembering the scene I played.

Had a "Double Feature" at the theater Friday night. Saw LotR:The War of the Rohirrim, followed by Kraven.

Both were Pretty Good, though I know NOTHING of the background for either movie.  I recognize several names from M.E., but that was it.  Odd they had Miranda Otto "Return" to voice Eowynn, since the story is set 183 years BEFORE the War of the Ring.  Didn't think the Rohirrim were THAT long-lived, especially since she's a young lady in the other movies.     Brian Cox voices King Helm Hammerhand, Billy Boyd (Pippin) voices Shank, and Dominic Monaghan (Merry) voices Wrot!
To me, Repros are 100% Wrong, and there's NO  room for me to give ground on this subject. I'm not just an Immovable Object on this, I'm THE Immovable Object. 3D Prints are just 3D Repros.

Aliens: Special-Edition.  Now, I assume there were other Wildcatters in the colony of Hadley's Hope that had similar-vehicles; either they were out in the weeks or so during the alien-infestation or, they just got some supplies and took off, running away and coming back when help arrived. They're used to being gone for weeks at a time anyways.

And most likely, the colony signaled back to Earth about the infestation, and Burke, intercepted it saying, "They lost contact with the colony".

Finished the Irishman; after watching It, I had different expectations on Jimi Hoffa's disappearance.

The priest kept trying to get him to fess up that 'ole Catholic-guilt, but he had no remorse and everyone die of old age in prison or such.

I had no idea what Kraven was, until I googled, and the first hit was, "Kraven Bombs at the Box-Office".

The Sony Marvel movies are a completely different beast that should have been put out of its misery a long time ago. Deadpool and Wolverine practically printed money for Fox/Disney/Marvel.

The Odyssey (1968) miniseries. This is an Italian TV show, and a product of its time. The dubbing is pretty awkward, but the story seems very faithful to Homer's original work. I'm only 2 episodes in, and so far its a brilliant, brooding piece of entertainment, more focused on characterization instead of gimmickry and action. I hope it holds up.

Day of the Jackal (2024) Watched the first episode of the newest remake, and I like it so far. The producers of course had to update the source material, so the plot is totally different, and so is the tradecraft. Both shows are looking good, so I ought to have a nice Christmas holiday season watching these two.

I’m almost impressed by Sony’s commitment to continuing to turn out absolute dreck that nobody wants and causes them to lose huge amounts of money every time.

The MCU has been doing significantly better over the last two years after having a few fumbles.  The only actual MCU film that's bombed recently has been The Marvels and a big chunk of that was driven by irrational hatred for Bree Larson.

I really enjoyed The Marvels. Admittedly, that may have been due entirely to the fact that Iman Vellani is a perfect casting choice for Ms Marvel.

I thought it was a perfectly enjoyable, if not particularly memorable.  Had it come out in Wave 3 it probably would have done just fine.

How are you liking Dune Prophecy so far? I think I'm going to read the books after this season finishes.
