Homemade meatloaf, amd oven roasted cabbage with zucchini in olive oil and basalmic.
how can you eat eddie?
sorry rhps weekend still on the kick from the show
well made a salad my neighbors enjoy
sourkraut rinsed it so  its not to sour but only once(dont have to rinse it but acidic taste can be overpowering)...added diced granny smith apple(hard and not dry) shredded carrot and about half a stick of celery(for aroma)...mixed it with 3 table spoons of sugar covered it left in fridge for about 2 hours( add sugar to taste)( time sitting in fridge makes chemical reactions with mixed ingredients turn it delicious...sort of like tuna salad is better the next day) served chilled with  potatoes and meatballs
you sure cannot out run death...but sure as hell you can make that bastard work for it!

Finished the last of the bean stew with cucumber and tomato salad. I bought a smaller fridge that I'm stocking full of keto only ingredients. This will be my personal fridge and the bigger one will be off limits to me. I'm into a low carb diet now, and will go to almost zero carbs by this weekend.

My son is teasing me that he'll get the housekeeper to buy tons of ice cream for the old fridge and he'll eat it all since I won't know about it anyway. Grr.

As the video I linked stated, "low carb" doesn't have to mean "no carb"... temptation is MUCH easier to manage that way.

Last year I did a really strict plan for a few months.

I learned something from my Grams that helped.

Keep some hard candy in the house  (I like Werther's for the richness)

When you finally cave, it's a lot better to have 1 sucker/hard candy item than destroying half a container of icecream or multiple mini-candybars, etc etc.

i know its weird but as a kid you would never get me to eat cookies candies much less ice cream...i was a strange kid and i absolutely loathed gummy bears...
something that is still stuck well into my middle age but now i enjoy gummy bears
weirdly as a kid i loved apples pears plums peaches grapes currants carrots beets red and sugar ones and i really had to be in mood for white carrots...because it was too fiberous also one of my 3 addictions from childhood to today stuck with me are popcorn french fries and tea

There is nothing strange about loathing gummy bears.

I have never liked them as kid or adult.

Now liking Red Beets, that is weird, yuck.    Hehe.   Kidding, I mean, I'm not, but to each their own :)

also i started to love them when they had been made with sugar free stuff especially the black forest brand....
i usually give them as gifts to my local politicians

And not all carbs are equal: the less processed it is, the better: chips or candy is a whole lot worse than steamed veggies or an apple.  Plus, you need dietary fiber or you get problems...

I eat a lot of salads and wont change that with keto, so fiber shouldn't be too much of a problem. Plus I bought chia seeds, so those ought to help too.

As far as temptations go, its strawberries and dark chocolate shavings mixed with heavy cream--as much as I can eat since they're all keto. So no worries there either.

Every time I see Scotch eggs mentioned it makes me think of Scotch tape, so I think of an egg that's been wrapped in tape.  I don't know why.

Brunswick-stew, reminds me of the stew that's popular on Georgia-coast(News Brunswick; basically, it's a lunch or dinner stew, made from sea-food like crabs and fish, caught, usually by kids, in the marshes that morning.

So, now I'm imagining people boxing up Overlords for loading as cargo.  "Nope, totally not a DropShip.  Everyone knows you can't fit a DropShip in a WarShip!  It's...a ten thousand ton box of marshmallows!  Yeah.  For the Heavy Guards big annual smores party."

That's largely how stew was invented.  It's just that people eventually started making organized recipes instead of just "throw whatever you've got into a pot."

The list of foods human can be allergic to is as long as the list of things that are food.

yah its not the meat but  what they inject the meat with to make it look appatizing in US...whatever it is it makes me break out in hives and rashes like poison ivy or stinging nettle(which is delicious with vinegar or apple cider vinegar and oil with some italian seasoning) itches like crazy for about a day if i consume too much of it. i can thank my stepmother for feeding me that while her kid got pork beef fish and no chicken.

Keto Day 1: huge salad (romaine lettuce, tomatoes, olives, cheese cubes, olive oil and balsamic), pork belly chunks (wow, this new air fryer is amazing), and fried eggs sunny side up. Dessert was strawberries in heavy cream mixed with dark chocolate and chia seeds.

I was scared that I might end up getting carb cravings afterwards, but it didnt happen. Looks like keto is based after all.

Keto day 2: broiled chicken thigh fillets smothered in spicy garlic coconut curry, modified Greek salad, strawberries and chocolate cream for dessert.

I was expecting the keto flu to hit, but Im not feeling any symptoms. So far so good.

ok this will sound stupid. my stepmother was a nutritionist/ dieticianand had to correct a lot of doctors diet plans...mostly due to to doctors making diet plans that were so out of whack and extreme that they would make people so sick and wishing for death after following the doctors plan to a point that she retired and went in and retrained as rn.
what i am saying dont listen to the doctor talk most  are generalists so talk to nutritionist/dietician instead let them consult with a doctor and then make a diet plan.
the whatever fad diet is in vogue at the moment will not help you it will kill you in long run. any nutritionist/dietician will tell you balance is the key and discipline to follow that balance...

Well the thing is Ive eaten a balanced diet for most of my life, focusing on high fiber grains, lean meats, fresh fruit, veggies, and avoiding sugar and only occasionally drinking alcohol, and I still ended up as pre-diabetic. This to me was a sign that I needed to try something else.

Im not even one full week into keto yet, but Ive already felt better than in the last 5 years. I take less and less trips to the bathroom in the middle of the night, and my uninterrupted sleep time has improved considerably. Also, I dont feel bloated anymore even after eating a huge meal, and no acid reflux either.

Minimizing my carb intake has done tremendous improvement so far, and I think I made the right choice.

It's much harder to avoid sugar than it used to be, glad to hear the new diet is working out for you! :)
