Enjoyment doesn't generate as many clicks at outrage

There is just something utterly wrong with this, even if it is true.

Rage is the only constant in the Internet as of right now and I'm tired of it. Not that there is not things to be angry about but that people choose to act the part of the angry game nerd every chance they get. I try not to add to the shouting contest online as it does little to nothing to resolve anything and the attitude has actively made me avoid some games (40K and D&D to name two, half the stories people post online are reasons to never touch the game) This is nothing new and unfortunately, won't change any time soon.

I’ve done my level best to avoid browsing any discussion of the Kickstarter other than what goes on here (and the only reason I’ve paid attention to the discourse here is because I’m supposed to). The handful of occasions that I’ve read comments all ended with me putting the Internet down for a while and doing anything else because the amount of impatience, whining, conspiracy theories, and general unpleasantness is absolutely insane.

Speaking as someone who also hasn’t heard from QML yet, I am confident that my stuff will get here when it gets here. The end. I don’t care that my stuff hasn’t shipped yet because it eventually will. I don’t care that other people have already received their stuff because eventually I will, too. It’s not a race. Someone else getting their stuff doesn’t take away from my enjoyment at all.

And, as I previously mentioned, this wait has been a stellar catalyst for getting my backlog painted.

I also want you guys to get your stuff quickly.  Since I didn’t get back into Battletech until June of last year, I just missed the kickstarter.  I can’t get any of this stuff until all of you guys get yours! I’m just following this thread to get a contact high from your excitement.

I feel ya, I'm fully into this KS, but I got back into Battletech just as the Clan Invasion KS was delivering wave 2 I think. I remember well being exicted about the success of a game I love while at the same time being a bit jealous of folks who were getting cool minis.

I'd be lying if I said I cleared even a dent into my backlog during the way (thanks, Star League Command Lance dropping) but I have made strides in prioritizing units that I can call "done" without additions from the KS.

Even just calling a unit complete w/o planning for future additions is a new thing for me lmao.

Well, FedEx hasn't updated my shipment's info since Friday but they're still claiming that it's supposed to be delivered today.

It's not getting delivered today.  It's 4:30 local time and I tried calling FedEx customer service and they didn't tell me anything more than the website.  There's no indication that it's actually arrived at the local facility yet.

Mine was delivered after 9pm on the day it showed "Out for Delivery" via the FedEx tracking site.  I figured it wouldn't actually show up that day after about 7pm.

The app finally (after three days) got updated ten minutes ago, showing that the package had made it to the distribution center three hours away from me.  I still don't understand why there were no updates in the intervening times between Friday and today, or why they said that it would arrive early today and never updated that.

In my experience, arrival dates are an estimate based on the last update, so if there's been no scan event on the package the arrival estimate won't update either. Scan events trigger the update.

Fedex just notified me that my shipment is on its way. About a week and a half after the confirmation email arrived.

Then it seems like they shouldn't provide "updated" delivery estimates when it's still so far away.

Also, I recognize that this is a rather petty issue compared to the people who have yet to even get a shipping notification.

It was like this last go around too.

They don’t scan every package at every stop, especially if it doesn’t change trucks

To anyone that has gotten theirs:
Did they include a paper with a manifest or anything?

By the time I get mine I will have forgotten what I ordered.
I know you can just check your pledge online but I was just
wondering if a dead tree shipping list was included.

Go into the pledge manager and take a screenshot and save it, I did, and then converted to a .pdf and then printed it.

I got a manifest via email from shipping@qmlogistics.com, with the subject being "Your Battletech: Mercenaries order has shipped!" Inside the email said the following:
Quote
[Redacted],

Congratulations! Quartermaster Logistics has shipped your order on behalf of Catalyst Game Labs for the Battletech: Mercenaries fulfillment!

Your order contains the following items:
1x BattleTech 40th Anniversary T-shirt (X-Large)
1x 3-Pack Mercenaries Posters Supersized
1x Union-Class Dropship
[Rest of list removed for brevity]

Your order is being sent to the address below:
[Redacted]

Your Tracking Number is...

I feel like there was a paper included last time, but I could be misremembering. In both cases, I checked against the pledge manager to make sure nothing got missed.

By the way, the 40th Anniversary shirt runs smaller than most of my shirts, including the Clan Invasion shirts. I had to double-check that I actually got an XL, because it fit me more like a Large.

It's the cool thing to hate on stuff on any type of social media now, or so it seems. The fandom of some of my favorite IPs are at each other's virtual throats (40K, D&D, Star Wars) When I was a foundling, people could have differing opinions and it was fine. It didn't automatically devolve into hatred and accusations. The internet has definitely made the world a smaller place, but at the same time, I don't know that it's made it a better place.
