Two variants of UM-IIC

The first, intentionally a little janky with the single heatsinks. Going double would allow a lot more firepower but it's an urbie. The LPL does 10 damage so it's a valid main gun.

Overview:
A Ghost Bear refit of the UM-IIC for second line galaxies and planetary
garrisons. It is also used as a training mech for freeborn warriors, as the
pulse lasers it uses make hitting easier. In the right arm a single Large Pulse
Laser serves as the main gun, in the left a Small Pulse Laser is a backup. 15
single heat sinks keep it perfectly cooled even when jumping but in hot
conditions it may need to refrain from firing both weapons at once.

The second, inspired by the R93/R96. A sort of clanner version of it. An improved heavy laser might be strictly better but costs many more c-bills. The targeting computer handles accuracy, as well as the idea that you lie in wait for a good shot. The heavy laser is definitely main gun material.

Overview:
A Rasalhagueian refit of the venerable old UM-R90 and UM-R60, several of which
chassis were lying around the Dominion unused. They were very impressed by the
reports of the new UM-R93 design of the Capellans and set out to copy the
hardened armor design. Being clanners they set a goal of higher mobility, using
a 90-rated core with three jump jets. The role of the UM-IIC 4 is still that of
an urban ambusher. The Heavy Laser provides a strong main weapon, well capable
of disabling much heavier mechs with a headshot or from the rear. An ER small
laser is wielded as a backup, perhaps as a nod to the old designs. The three
jump jets afford it some mobility and the ability to clear low buildings,
sorely lacking in the original UM-R60. The hardened armor provides extra
survivability. The 10 clan-grade heatsinks struggle a little to keep it cooled
when jumping and firing the Heavy Laser. A targeting computer is added to make
more shots count. The lack of speed means it it limited to second line Galaxies
and planetary militias, however.

Choices, choices. Going for a mere 11 tons hardened armor would allow for a snub nose ppc with a capacitor. 10 tons could throw in an AES too. The snub peep seems like a weapon that'd fit the environment very properly, too bad there's no clan version. Obviously just an ER peep without the capacitor would probably be superior in terms of actual play.
