An alternative loadout to help Marik with their PPC availability problem, while still retaining/enhancing the capabilities of the original -3E. Usage is still largely the same, however by trading the weaponry (slightly increasing overall damage and average penetration as well as eliminating minimum range at the cost of reducing range somewhat and reducing the maximum penetration of a single weapon) and reducing the number of heatsinks we now have a situation where it mounts 18.5 tons of armour - more raw protection than anything but the Atlas, and arguably because it's faster and more likely to generate TMMs than an Atlas it's the most durable 'Mech at the tech level.

Added bonus is that the removal of any weapons with minimum ranges allows it to completely savage a single target while punching/kicking the snot out of it. While adding the Medium Laser isn't completely heat neutral it also allows the -3EL to generate a damage-based piloting roll at range.

Usage is fairly straightforward: approach the enemy at a run while firing, and don't stop firing even as you start punching and kicking the crap out of them. Punches are great for other Assault 'Mechs; trying to crack open the head and feast on the goo inside. Some 'Mechs really benefit from the application of a good kicking, however: regardless of how much armour it has any 'Mech of 50 tons or lighter is going to lose a leg to 2 hits, and this thing can yeet the bottom half of a Warhammer or Marauder into low orbit with a couple of kicks as well.

It's not subtle. It's not a marvel of well-balanced engineering. But it occupies that awkward space of a design that doesn't carry the greatest firepower but that also can only be ignored at your peril, so you're faced with the dilemma of concentrating your fire on a solid brick of a thing that can happily tank damage while its more heavily armed buddies rain their fire down on you, or else concentrating on other units until you realise that you're in melee combat with a coked-up 500-pound gorilla.
