OR 3067: Homer Orbital Aerospace Facility M13 - Canon?
« on: 17 November 2024, 13:10:09 »
MadCapellan's Objective Raids: 3067 fan work mentions the "Homer Orbital Aerospace Facility M13" as the production site of a number of aerospace fighter designs. However, I've been unable to find a reference to this facility in canon.

Is there a canonical source for this facility or was it invented for the book (i.e. Fanon)?

I don't see it in TROs so far, but, if I had to suggest something, I'd maybe say Wars of Reaving?
I know we get a LOT of random factory mentions that were never seen in canon in that book.

It has its own sarna site, and references two TROs as sources. However, when I search those TROs I'm not seeing it specifically mentioned.

So maybe canon, but I'm surprised I'm not seeing it mentioned even in the books sarna says it is in.

That's why I think it might be Wars of Reaving.

The TRO links are because the Unit mentioned is in that TRO.

But there were a lot of added Factories mixed into all those WoR fights.

Like the Coyotes having a DireWolf factory that has never been mentioned in a TRO before.

Yeah… the Sarna article is the problem. Because none of the cited sources mentions this facility. (And the editor responsible for the article also fell for the fallacy of assuming that when a given unit is "built" somewhere, all named components would be manufactured on site.)
That started an attemp to find the source, and it seems to be OR:3067. :(

To be fair, a lot of Clan production was deliberately nebulous, due to the IS nature of TROs.  WoR absolutely mentions productions facilities we've never heard of, and several production facilities that show up in TROs are only mentioned as producing like one unit.

One of the things that frustrates me about trying to make a Clan Force pre-Dark Age/ilClan.

The "Upgraded" TRO versions added a lot of Factory info compared to the original versions where everything was "unknown".
Objective Raids was probably the first bit of data we got for the OZ at least.

One of the reasons I love the Updated TROs.  Does it give us the whole picture?  Heck no.  But it gradually has given us a better one.

Have you asked MadCapellan?
Oh my brother, with your courage we can conquer,
In your sword I put my trust that you will honor
I will be the higher ground should you concede it
And my body be your shield if you should need it.
