Running MP: 4

Armour Factor (Hardened):  216

7 ER Rainbow Projectors (2 of them facing back)

Where heck is that turret from anyways? It looks like someone decomission a Battleship and put turret for seashore battery.

I'd say it's from somewhere in the Pacfic judging by how green everything is.

And chances are the guns in it are bigger then those mounted on a Battleship

So it's the "C" turret from the Gneisenau, removed from the ship and placed in Austrått Fort in Norway.

280 mm, 11 inches. I knew I have seen those turrets before.  ;)

It was only a matter where exactly.

I would say its a german position with 11" guns, that looks like on the turrets from Scharnhorst or Gneisenau

Wow, I knew they recycled it, but until now I would have never guessed where they put it. Good one.

Who says playing BT and hanging out on the forums doesn´t teach you something.

Does anyone know what happened to the other turrets?

Does anyone know what happened to the other turrets?

The "A" turret suffered direct bomb hit and was destroyed. Guns were salvaged and transported to Holland, where they were positioned in separate placements. Scrapped after the war.

The "B" turret was transported to Norway, but scrapped in 1960s.

So only the "C" turret remains, as it was turned into a museum twenty years ago. The position is 63°42'29"N   9°43'13"E

This makes it easy, now all I need is a model of the Gneisenau in '700 scale and I can get started.  ;)

Tamiya does one in 1/700, if that helps your search.

Oh getting a model isn't the hard part. There is a model shop here in Jersey that has a model of most ships and planes. Its finding the free time to get up there to buy said needed model for my soon to be 'Battletech Fixed Fortification project.'
