Ah short overview would be fine.
it´s not necessarily that i´m immoral of character, i just don´t take great stock in the morality of others, that´s all

There are some intyeresting units in there and some trash.

Like: Catapult II L7L variant, The LuWei Bing (which is a weird Capellan Highlander if you ask me),Yun Y2, Pixiu, Predator (esp the look, the armor is a bit weak), Shen Long

Underimpressed: Vandal, Raven II, Zahn, Amazon

Trash: Gun

The Lu Wei Bing looks more to be an offshoot of the Victor by its load-out and artwork. It also mentions the Victor in it's fluff.

The head is that, but I think its due to the MWO Highlander art (same artist as well). Its odd that they would make a mech so like the Vic when they have a Victor plant on St Ives.

Not that strange. We don't know if their victor plant is running anymore. They may have retooled it for the new mech.

That is even better.

Oh man, is it small? I hope it's small enough that one of the 100-tonners with TSM can pick it up.

It is, technically, unarmed...because it's a 20-ton OmniMech. Calling it trash, though, is outright disingenuous; it's 20 tons and half of that is payload. It's like comparing a Stryker IFV to an Abrams MBT. The Gùn is meant to support infantry in a defensive posture, so it doesn't need to be fast nor overly-armored (it's fairly close to max armor as is, but...20 tons).

Also, it's not the "Gun," it's the "Gùn". BIG difference.

So this Gùn is basically the UrbanMech 2.0, Omni version?

Your mileage may vary. I'm half Irish, so I can recognize and appreciate a shillelagh when I see one. ^-^

Overall I like this book, maybe even more so than the first volume. The writers continue to concentrate their efforts on the Deployment section, so there's very little "reading the record sheet out loud." There's a good mix between brand-new, MWDA, and updated classic units - to be fair, though, the updated units were also seen in MWDA. The art is pretty uniformly excellent, with Shuda, Plog, and Iglesias as stand-outs (not to fault Nelson nor Daranouvong, as their pieces are also good).

So this Gùn is basically the UrbanMech 2.0, Omni version?

Faster, less armor (again, 20 tons), much more versatile. It's not really an Urbie at all, beyond being a (relatively) slow light.

At first I thought a 5/8 20 tonner was a waste of an omnimech. After doing some thinking about it I realized that a low BV BA transport that still has a plasma rifle and some medium lasers is actually not so bad after all, considering how much I enjoy BA.

Yep. And its BV is actually a bargain compared to its contemporaries.

I'll admit, I'm very happy to see all these new OmniMechs, if only because of the old, tired argument that the Dark Age universe sucked for their lack.

Off the top of my head this is the first new slow light chassis we've got since 3025n and I'd say it's aligned more with the Urbie then the Panther

so what is the TSEMP?

Other wise here is my thought on it

I like them! I'm not a Cappy fan by hart but I want a Lu Wei Bing. I dare a headhunter unit to come after my CO with one of those as his ride.

I see why the FWL and the Federated Sun kept sqeezing the Capellan confederation, if you let up on them they make some pretty cool toys your gonna have a hard time dealing with.

I also would love to see a fight of a Agrotera vs a Phoenix hawk.

I also like how even thought they are new toys it feels like they are built more to fill in gaps in the Capellans ideas for warfare vs straight replacing good units with something fancier just because you can.

I also got this idea of using the Arrow IV Assault vehicles trailer hitch to bring in some thumper gun trailers from 3145 mercs

Here is another good fight a Shen Long squad vs Fenrir squad

What does the fox say?

Based on the description in the fluff of the 'mechs that have it, the TSEMP will likely function pretty similarly to an energy-based, long-range 'mech taser.

Great art and interesting units. I'm very happy. With such nice art I'm excited for minis, though I'm sure those are rather far off.
