Chicagoland Tukayyid Saturday February 19th
« on: 26 January 2011, 12:15:54 »
Ok.  We are VERY lucky I ended up pulling the force orgs for this game off the boards a week before the hacking otherwise we're probably be out at a pirate point with a blown KF drive.

That being said,  could those who were going to show up and help me with minis on either side give me a PM on this board so I can give you my email to coordinate for this one?  Also.  If anyone has clan medium Omnis of the 3050 era,  give me a pm of your list of what you have.  I'm not looking for people to repaint to GB colors or C* colors for stuff.

Cool.  I think that actually finishes off the C* mechs at this point but I have to check.  Vehicles I'll be relooking into but I think we need another 8-10.  If we end up short then I'll substitute more mechs.  Infantry we'll be able to muddle through one way or another.

PM me one more time with what you need me to bring.  I'm going to request the day before off to allow me to paint the Comstar units.

I am glad to find out I still have over a week to get minis ready.  I was recalled back to work so I might not be able to finish my comguards that I talked about.  I am still planing to bring most of the Ghost Bear Omegas but my Elementals might not be painted.

Ok.  Here are the potential force orgs as I have them set at this point.

I'll start with the Ghost Bear stuff as I have a test set of QS cards made for the mechs with them all skilled at 2 each. I'll be tweaking that giving a few mechs better gunners and a few worse for the final breakdown.

15 Elemental points (am willing to use other Clan BA as proxies if need be)
Light Omnis:
Fire Moth/Dasher Prime
Mist Lynx/Koshi B
3 Adders/Puma:  Prime, A, C
Medium Omnis:  I am prepared to swap out some Vipers for other other 3050 mediums if we don't have enough available.
11 Viper/Dragonfly:  4 Prime,  2 A, 1 B,  1 C,  3 D
2 Ice Ferret/Fenris:  Prime, A
5 Nova/Black Hawk:  2 Prime, 1 A, 1 B, 1 C
7 Stormcrow/Ryoken:  2 Prime, 2 A, 1 B, 1 C,  1 D
Heavy Omnis:
10 Mad Dog/Vulture:  4 Prime,  2 A,  2 B,  2 C
1 Hellbringer/Loki:  Prime
10 Summoner/Thor:  3 Prime,  2 A,  2 B,  1 C,  2 D
3 Timber Wolf/Mad Cat:  1 Prime, 1 A,  1 C
Assault Omnis:
1 Gargoyle/Man-o-war: Prime
1 Warhawk/Masakari:  Prime
1 Kingfisher:  Prime
3 Executioner/Gladiator:  1 Prime, 1 A, 1 B

On the clan stuff I was supplying one Ryoken, all 3 Timber Wolves, 2 Mad Dogs and all the Assaults except for the Kingfisher.

Ok.  C* side.

There will be 30 Infantry units in the game (6 per level 3)  I have never used infantry before so I have no idea how I should make these for the game.  I will need help doing them.  We probably only NEED 18-20 infantry units in miniature form as 2 of the Level 3s are reinforcements if needed and we can recycle minis.

Between Kurt and Patrick, I believe they were the ones who ponied up vehicles in the PM list before the hacking, we have these vehicles available.  According to the way I have the TOE setup for C* there are 18 mechs, 12 vehicles and 6 infantry per level 3.  3 level 3s are starting on the field with 2 in reserve.

8 Gabriels (5)
1 Ripper (10)
2 Beagles (15)
2 Rotundas (2)
2 J. Edgars (25)
2 Galleons (30)
2 Karnovs (30, can also be used as Cobras if desired)
6 Lightnings (35)
1 Zephyr (40)
1 Kanga (50)
2 LRM carriers (60)
2 Marksmen (65, artillery)
1 Magi (70)
1 Burke (75)
2 Zhukovs (75, Comstar did use these as they were produced on Terra)
1 Demolisher (80, TRO:3039 listed Comstar as a user of this tank)
2 Fury (80)
1 Rhino (80)
2 Ontos (95)
2 Pumas (95)
2 Demon
5 Alacorn,
2 heavy hover apc
2 von luckner

I will pm my whole list later, but I can cover all 15 elementals.  Almost all of them will be on 1 cent hex bases, but they will be painted and good to go.  Let me know.

cool.  having 1 supplier of elementals will make things work better.

I'll be doing the repairs on my clan stuff (a couple of the heavies need to be rebuilt and I need to build the plastic loki period) today and giving that stuff a prime today.

This is still on as far as I know.  I'm currently trying to reorganize the miniatures supplies for this as that part of the data was nuked in the forum crash.   The force ORG was intact as far as I took it, still figuring out the vehicles and infantry fo the C* force.

I'm happy right now.  The example they give for converting Battle Armor to Battleforce stats in SO is the Basic Elemental point.  That will make things nice and easy to print out basic cards for them since I haven't figured out how to print out vehicle and infantry cards in SSW.  Or I can just go and grab the stats off of PRI right now.

Ok.  I have another idea here which I definitely want opinions on as this could save us trying to find 6 vehicles :)

I'm thinking after asking and getting some decent answers from people in the strategic area of this forums of trying a little off board artillery with this game.  Fairly simple rules here.  This will be a level 2 of artillery (6 pieces firing as one volley at one point)  I'm debating on what type,  it's either going to be Thumpers or Long Toms. I have to check to see how the damage is on the two in battleforce scale.

Rules for OBA for this game since there are no rules for OBA in quick strike as I saw.

One corner of the map on the C* home edge will be designated 0,0

3 turn cycles.  Starting turn 1.

Turn 1 Shooting Phase.  Person in charge of Artillery L2 will give GM (Me) on a piece of paper x,y coordinates of the target point which at least one unit in the C* force must have LOS to when the target is designated.

Turn 3 Shooting Phase.  Artillery Strike lands.  TN 8 to hit direct point.  If missed,  scatter is 2xMoE inches in random direction as dictated by GW scatter die (provided by me).

Artillery damage will be full for direct spot only,  each 2 inches = 1 hex for damage spread for the AOE of the artillery type.  Damage will be based on the artillery piece which is why I need to check the damages.  I don't want the artillery to be too overbalancing.

Snipers and Thumpers are both 3, Long Tom is 5/1.

No more saturdays or no more work period?

No more work.  My boss sent me a Txt message about not being able to stay overtime when I was given less then 2 minutes notice.  Next day I reported and showed the Human resources the txt message and I got fired the next Monday when my boss returned to work.
