Loved Shaun of the Dead.  They did the best use of Queen's You're My Best Friend I've ever witnessed.

Finally watched the 2nd Kingsman Movie, i get now why it wasn't as good as the first.  Lordy do they go too crazy with their plots.  It wasn't bad, but it wasn't as good as the original.

I'm disappointed that they essentially closed the story, but their filmed a Prequel (i hate prequels) the King's Man.

Since lockdown I've been on a classic movie kick. I've been watching tons of films from the 40s, 50s, and 60s, and a few from the 70s, but those can get... weird...  xp
Last night I watched "Go for Broke", and tonight its "The Man Who Knew Too Much."

I've recently rewatched Suicide Squad.

No Anime please... only 1989 and down.

Now I've watched the Toxic Crusader / Avenger last night.

Marvin and the gang took me on a Swampthang trip.

Rewatched Miller's Crossing once again. I honestly believe this is the Coen brothers best movie. Just awesome in every aspect.

Anything with Batman is Anime to me, same for Avengers.

Unless it's Starman and original 20's Batman.

Finally watched a Bumblebee today.

That was a fun little movie. A little cheesy here and there. A little too formulaic. But still awfully damned fun. Definitely a welcome departure from whatever the last Bayformer movie I watched was.

It was more like the old cartoon...  plus I love the throwback stuff to my era childhood

The Devil All the Time- just awful. A movie about Southern stereotypes. Full of violence and sex, yet the whole thing just seemed pointless.

Dr. Sleep - meh. Too long and not even scary. The villain was more sexy than frightening.

Watching the show Sherlock with Cumberbatch and Marten Freeman. It's good but it's still a crime drama and I'm not all about those sometimes....makes me want to watch Dr. house again.

But the flute playing. So much flute playing.  So much blatantly subtextual-turned-textual-then-back-to-subtext-it-went-so-long flute playing.

Enola Holmes: Light, fluffy, breezy YA about the supposed younger sister of Sherlock. Plot is about as deep as you'd expect, Sherlock (Henry Cavill) shows up only for the "Worf effect" of showing how smart the protagonist is, but Millie Bobby Brown (of Stranger Things fame) is just so gosh darned charming I ended up not caring. Not normally my cup of tea, but you know what, it kind of made a nice change from all the doomscrolling.

A Life on Our Planet (speaking of doomscrolling): David Attenborough still going strong at 93, chronicling the changes he's seen in the natural world in the last century, which means of course it's a chronicle of environmental devastation and OH MY GOD WE'VE MADE DAVID ATTENBOROUGH CRY. Way to go, us. I hope we're happy now. We've upset this beautiful, gentle-voiced man, whose boots we are not worthy to ... oh, it makes me mad. MAD.

Watched The Outpost on Netflix.

Good movie.
We hear that there are tumults and riots in Rome, and that voices are raised concerning the army and the quality of our soldiers. Make haste to reassure us that you love and support us as we love and support you, for if we find that we have left our bones to bleach in these sands in vain, then beware the fury of the legions.
