I just put a Viking IIC together and while it looks good, I think there are some serious design issues with the mini.

First of all, the leg sprue is done in such a way that it's super easy to accidentally rip one of the toes right off the foot while removing the leg from the sprue.  Second of all, the chin lasers are ridiculously hard to actually attach and keep attached: I got them glued on but one came off when I was attaching the legs and at that point I'd have had to disassemble pretty much the entire mini to get it back on.  I think if there had been some way to have made the lasers into a single piece that attached to the chin over a broader area than those tiny divots, it would have been a lot better for assembly.

Other than that, great mini- love the details on the legs and missile pods.

It sounds like we've got the following miniatures on the immediate horizon:
AWS-8Q Awesome (Classic design from AGoAC)
BLR-1G Battlemaster (Classic design from AGoAC)
Defender (Warship from Field Manual 2765 - AFFS)
Thunderbolt variant (TDR-5SE? TDR-7M?)
Commando variant (COM-3A? COM-3S?)
Raider (TRO 3150)

I can't remember if they said which Commando Variant, but I Think they said -5SE and -5SS for the T-Bolt.
To me, Repros are 100% Wrong, and there's NO  room for me to give ground on this subject. I'm not just an Immovable Object on this, I'm THE Immovable Object. 3D Prints are just 3D Repros.

Something to bear in Mind. Defending the BT IP is Frowned upon here.

After much blood, sweat, and swearing, I did manage to get the chin guns attached.  Looks fantastic, just easily the most annoying mini that I've assembled in years.

Fantastic...been a while since one of those came out.

Funded it last May I think? Figured if I paid for the Davion Destroyer years back I might as well get the Defender done as well.
I don't set an example for others. I make examples of them.

Just built the 2 Atlas II configs and the 2 Wolverines.  Great stuff.  Easy to assemble, sockets worked fine, one could pin if needed.  Legs have limited poseability, wish they had a bit more range.

Bought extras of both to make a few kitbashes as well.  Lady Arano is getting her ride for one.

I can't wait to put my Atlas II together.  Maybe jumped the gun a little bit since theres a Devlin Stone specific one coming out. Oh darn, I will have to buy another!

Will the Devlin Stone Atlas II be in a different pose or just feature a modified torso?

Speck...just to confirm, aside from the Devlin version...will there also be a Nicholas Kerensky version? I could have sworn that was discussed previously, just can't seem to find it now.

Off-had, NK's version just uses Clan-spec equipment but has identical layout to stock Atlas II, plus extra electronics.
EDIT Wait, that has extra SRM-6. But otherwise stock layout.

I can't remember if they said which Commando Variant, but I Think they said -5SE and -5SS for the T-Bolt.
I thought the T-bolt variant is the 5D, the weird with AC/20 and LRM-10?

I saw a heavily modified Atlas II on the CSO website, was painted by GunjiNoKanrei in in Stone's Lament colors, presumably Devlin Stone's own mech.  Was that your work?  That was my favorite iteration of the Atlas II until now.  I spent considerable time magnetizing and painting up my Atlas II but I've only had it on the game board once...  Anyways, i'll definitely be picking up an Atlas II in my next order from IWM.

No, mine was a bit cruder. That one was awesome.

I am glad to see that the mech got the miniature it deserves.

We are back again... but we never forget Albatross

Just different torso.

Just Devlin version, no other variants were discussed beyond what is out in the distro release and the coming Devlin.

Ok...thank you Speck. I swear I had heard it at some Pont, maybe it was just conjecture or rumor I had spotted.

Same! I love the Vader vibe with the new one.

Much improved over my old attempt...

You mean from the Rec Guides?

It would be nice but I'm fine with waiting on that and focusing more heavily on mechs that did not get plastic versions.

I certainly like the revised version of the Atlas II over the original one Brent drew.

Interesting fact, that was actually drawn by Ray Arrastia at the time on an INCREDIBLY tight deadline rather than Brent.

I would like to see a roast of Ray. It works because art direction and layout have done an incredible job rejuvenating the game, and he has been a critical piece, and roasts only work if you roast the ones you love.

awesome and battlemaster are likely toward the front of the line as they're the final two from the box still uncast

hammerhead wouldn't surprise me; the stats have been released for a while, it's on clan general, and it is one of the better early RG designs that aren't green bird.
