I'm kinda with you on that...but, not the Highlander IIC miniature. I think the current design does need a refresh, but what honestly didn't in my mind (although they did knock the refresh out of the park)...was the 20-5128 / BT-402 / BT-403 Highlander minis. They were re-sculpted not too many years ago to bring them more in line, and then the KS happened and we get another design! LOL
I'm all for refreshed stuff, especially for some of the more hideous designs, or to correct stuff like no waists yet can still torso twist...but I just think the Highlander could have been left alone. A LOT of work went into that refresh as well as a couple others.
Thanks, Derek... I'm sure Behrle Hubbuch would appreciate that too!
I have a lot of Scottish blood in my ancestry. As such-- the Highlander has always been a core favorite.
I was
SO stoked to work on the resulpt with Behrle, and was inspired by Drew William's pet project in his 20-942RE Atlas.
As well as the new at the time Highlander Art by the venerable Alex Iglesias.
I'm still happy with the mini. It's not perfect, but does certainly capture that awesome classic highlander heritage.
The new plastic Highlander is sweet, but it feels more like a bridge between the Highlander and Highlander IIC.
I just love the brutalist appeal of the old girl. Happy to have been involved. I miss working with Mike and the lot at IWM.
Anyway, enough pining for the good ole days... ;)
