So say we all.

I would love a sculpt for that.

No, I suspect they are referring to this mech:

http://masterunitlist.info/Unit/Details/9466/viper-vp-1

Correct, the VP-1 Viper. This was such a great surprise in the RG series, would have been awesome to have a mini ready to release at the same time.

That would definitely go on my shopping list, either as metal or plastic, whatever comes first.

snip - I may prioritize some second line clan mechs.. - snip

On the topic of second line clan Mechs, since the Glass Spider/Galahad didn't make it into
the Mercs KS (boo), any chance of it going metal ?

I'd love to have VP-1 Viper.

I can imaging using the parts bin, that something couple be cobbled together.

I suspect body of the new classic crusader or maybe body of the reseen versions.
Maybe primitive Wasp's head could be used with some modifications head.

As for arms, I'm sure.  I hope canon new-classic ones shows up soon.

VP-1 Viper for me too. Would be amazing. Any word on the possibility of a new Phantom Omnimech based on the new art in the Rec Guide? Didn't appear in the Kickstarter.

I'd love to get my hands on a fresh Phantom model as well.

Unfortunately it was left out of the Clan Invasion KS, the only Wolf design was the Linebacker while the Falcons got all 4 of their SB designs and I think the only IC design not included was the Grizzly . . . which is in this Merc KS.

Pouncer got covered in the AS Box at least.

The Phantom was given an updated look in Rec Guide 27.  Since it's not in any of the Mercenaries kickstarter packs, some people are hoping that it's eligible for a new mini from IWM.

I have been wanting a new Phantom mini since the Clan Invasion kickstarter. A new Glass Spider would also be great, I feel like it was a missed opportunity to not include the Glass Spider in the Direct Fire Star alongside Mechs like the Rifleman IIC and the Bane. It wasn't like we really needed a new Highlander IIC, the current mini from IWM is perfectly serviceable. Though if we get an IWM Glass Spider first maybe they can include parts that will allow people to make either a Glass Spider or a Glass Spider 2.

Of course, we also don't know what other force packs Catalyst might have planned in the near(ish) future.

I'm more interested in when the next batch of minis from IWM will be up for sale.

It's hideous. It would benefit from a plastic mini! Hopefully there is some unannounced star pack in the near future with it in it!

I'm kinda with you on that...but, not the Highlander IIC miniature. I think the current design does need a refresh, but what honestly didn't in my mind (although they did knock the refresh out of the park)...was the 20-5128 / BT-402 / BT-403 Highlander minis. They were re-sculpted not too many years ago to bring them more in line, and then the KS happened and we get another design! LOL

I'm all for refreshed stuff, especially for some of the more hideous designs, or to correct stuff like no waists yet can still torso twist...but I just think the Highlander could have been left alone. A LOT of work went into that refresh as well as a couple others.

Yeah, the new Highlander from IWM is a fantastic. Granted, it is an advanced miniature, but it's a beast.

I would like to the see the new Banshee from IWM -- mainly because there is the possibility of variants that we wouldn't get otherwise. Parts to make the 3E and 3S are obvious, much as with the original Banshee. However, I wouldn't find it a stretch to have the parts to make a 3M and 3MC either -- depending on how detailed you want to get with the barrels in the torso. Of course, we could see offerings similar to the Wolverine and get a little nuts; releases or parts to create the 5S, 6S, and 7S.

That might be excessive, but one can dream.  :D

Much like Weirdo, I would happily see the support side of BattleTech fleshed out with vehicles and support units.

Thanks, Derek... I'm sure Behrle Hubbuch would appreciate that too!
I have a lot of Scottish blood in my ancestry. As such-- the Highlander has always been a core favorite.
I was SO stoked to work on the resulpt with Behrle, and was inspired by Drew William's pet project in his 20-942RE Atlas.
As well as the new at the time Highlander Art by the venerable Alex Iglesias.
I'm still happy with the mini. It's not perfect, but does certainly capture that awesome classic highlander heritage.
The new plastic Highlander is sweet, but it feels more like a bridge between the Highlander and Highlander IIC.
I just love the brutalist appeal of the old girl. Happy to have been involved. I miss working with Mike and the lot at IWM.
Anyway, enough pining for the good ole days...  ;)

I have to say that I loved how poseable the resculpted Highlander was while still being easy to assemble thanks to the large contact surfaces on each piece where they glued together.

Man...you guys knocked that one out the park. The pose-ability and just sheer sculpting of it, it was & still is just darn near perfect! I didn't know you had a hand in that...so that's always good to know!

My kitbashes and I can't thank you enough for just how fun your resdesign is to pose and work on.   I also echo that it didn't need yet another redesign, and was a bit disappointed to see the gauss arm get a generic hex shape redesign instead of the trowel hood of the original.

Thanks, Derek... I'm sure Behrle Hubbuch would appreciate that too!

I'll join in on loving that Highlander sculpt. My one complaint about it is that there's no convenient way to swap the arms around for a Shockwave paint job. :)

Well, we pretty much know that it's the Jade Phoenix, Mastodon, an a third unnamed mini that is not the Ion Sparrow or variants of the Thunderbolt or Commando.

My guess is it's the Thresher MKII or Firestorm.

Complete agreement that the new IWM Highlander is an amazing miniature. It was a ton of fun to build and paint. I am looking forward to getting the Steiner variants of it.

Also would love to see the RecGuides Viper made into a miniature and a resculpt of the Phantom based on the new art.
