Is it the GTX2 Daedalus or the DAD-series Daedalus?

I have some other questions as well
Why is the story talking about Gateway having been abandoned? It still was on map...

And... Daedalus BattleMechs. Daedalus is an Industrial...

Both of these should be errata'd.

I wasn't even thinking of that interpretation.

I was more talking about it being reestablished at all... when its on our Hanseatic Map in 3140.

Will have to check later. Could be that sentence chanfed a few times between drafts and the whole abandoned part was supposed to be Göttingen and there were two sentences mushed together by accident.
Probably my mistake when working comments in.

As far as creating new planets go: Göttingen is new ;)

It would be very appreciated, if in a future Shrapnel issue you could include a small article about the Home Clans (maybe in Secrets of the Sphere or Voices of the Sphere).
Just some speculation.

"We have made of New Avalon a towering funeral pyre and wiped the Davion scourge from the universe.  Tikonov, Chesterton and Andurien are ours once more, and the cheers of the Capellan people nearly drown out the gnashing of our foes' teeth as they throw down their weapons in despair.  Now I am made First Lord of the Star League, and all shall bow down to me and pay homa...oooooo! Shrapnel can contain stories from all eras. It could have plenty of stories from the homeworlds set before the Wars of Reaving.

The Homies will return.  It's ingrained in their culture to fixate on the Inner Sphere.

It may be years, but they will.  It's got to be the right situation in canon.

. . . so zombies from the blasted wastelands of the Home Worlds?

There's no indication that the answer has changed from what it's been for the past few years.

I know that, but MarauderCH was saying you could have earlier stories- which is not what Gaiiten was asking for by the use of the word 'Home' to describe which Clans.  They are also not going to throw out anything but unfounded speculation in Shrapnel IMO.  If the Home Clans get mentioned, it is going to be as part of a major narrative arc and not going to be a throw away line.

Any story submitted to shrapnel about the post-reaving homies would be rejected out of hand. If they are reintroduced, it will likely be part of planned set of products

If it fits up with canon, but its already been done on Necromo.

Knowing the Adders, they will show up in time to actually topple the IlClan, not just fight it.

Any reason why?

Because the Clans were never the focus except as the invaders?  Because they are many lightyears away from the 'center' of the universe?  Because narratively they cut themselves, and were cut by the IS, off from interaction?  Because the surviving philosophies of the Wars of Reaving was that the Inner Sphere- or bluntly anyone not them- is tainted?  Because it lets them remove five factions from running the narrative when they had no impact?  Because it de-complicates the picture- IE, not having to manage parallel timelines?

Sure there are more, but you can pick and choose.

Home Clans are one of legions of Chekhov's Guns in BT.

Potential is what the Home Clans are, potential to be an all-in invader one day.

But it won't be for a long time.

It would be a very Star League thing to do.  Treat the Homies as the Periphery (which they are), being civilization to them on HARD MODE.  Be done with it.  Fill up the spaces between the old Sphere and there, expand the Inner Sphere, then like Rome everything falls apart. Let mercenaries run about with new micro warring states all about.

Hmm, and later the homeworlds could become the center of anti-ilClan resistance when the “auditor clusters” are patrolling the Inner Sphere and Periphery for unauthorized 'Mech production. That would be a fun reversal.

...but I'm getting a century ahead. For now I assume the core writers haven't decided what the homeworlds look like. They're not keeping it a secret out of spite; there is literally no secret to share.

Ding ding ding.

And that's not an open invitation to pitch us your ideas about Wars of Reaving II: Reave Harder. We have SO much we need to set up in the Inner Sphere, that's so much more relevant to establishing/re-establishing the setting as an environment for play, before we can even put our brains there. "Hey, the ilClan is cool and all, but what about the Homeworld Clans??" is like hearing your state has been overthrown by violent radicals and asking, "That's cool but what's happening on Tierra Del Fuego."

Further conversation about the Homeworld Clans (including this post, mods--I'm not immune!) needs to be moved to its own thread. (Which would be the 390th iteration of such a thread.) I have a new product to drop in the next 20 minutes and I don't want it buried.
