Update 175.

Thanks for reminding me, I'd actually forgotten about that. A little perplexing the backers didn't get advance release but it could be down to factors we're unaware of.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/cgl/battletech-clan-invasion/posts/3253965

According to Randall this title was to go out to kickstarter backers in August, and Book 3 at the end of the year. Based on today's release date, hopefully we'll see "Land of Dreams" early next year - and finally settle the question of whether Nikky K actually arranged for his brother's murder.
All Clan totems are equal but some are more equal than others.

"The Succession Wars solved no problem. Their effects, both immediate and indirect, were either negative or disastrous. Morally subversive, economically destructive, socially degrading, confused in their causes, devious in their course, futile in their results, they are the outstanding example in Spheroid history of meaningless conflict."
The Third Star League's view of the Succession Wars, plagiarised from an ancient Terran historian's judgement of the Thirty Years War.

Seeing how Visions isn't showing up on any of the online booksellers, I wonder if it's posting at the Catalyst store is a mistake?

Regarding the turnaround, it isn't like CGL could've predicted the Global Shipping Issue that occurred.  Also didn't help that the Chinese manufacturers Flat Out LIED to them.  They told CGL, get "X" done by "Y" Deadline, and it could be Finished before Chinese New Year.  After working like mad, CGL BEAT the "Deadline" by a few weeks it sounds like, only to be told, "Hah Ha! Thanks for your money, but No, you still get it after Chinese New Year. Psyche!", or words to that effect.   xp

But the global shipping issues and lying manufacturers aren't why we had two waves.  The shear volume of product that had to be produced is why.   I'm not saying they were wrong to do it that way and I am glad they were upfront about it from day one.  It was good for a first run to come out with a bang.  I'd just like to see future kickstarters for the line to stick with one wave.

Doh!  You are 100% Correct on that point.  i Absolutely did NOT take that into consideration!   ;D

I thought it was Hilarious how we'd blow through one Goalpost and they'd scramble to come up with new Stretch Goals.   ;D

And then there's those of us who wish we could have bought in on that, but yay living on fixed income.  If it's offered in a hypothetical next kickstarter, I'm saving up for it.

For me it was less about the character and more about the best price per mini, which that level offered.

This right here.  I'd love to be involved, but I only get so much per month.  Even the meager bit a writer gets paid per story is attractive to me, and a boost to my lifestyle.

Same, I wound up doing 2 Star Colonel pledges, and getting the refund on one of the canon characters.  I'm happy with where I ended up too.

I mean the chance to be SaKhan or some grunt or background NPC is still epic: you’re a party of history of a franchise you enjoy. Like seeing members of the 501st in actual Star Wars films as extras. Like holy cow! You may not end up as the idea you wanted but still… it’s a thing for sure.

Also…. So it’s Friday….. got any of that new Battletech?

Recognition Guide Vol. 20 Now Available

Recognition Guide: ilClan, Vol. 20

PDF: $3.99

The march of technology across BattleTech’s eras is relentless—but some BattleMech designs never die. Each installment of this PDF-only series not only includes a brand new BattleMech or OmniMech, but also details Classic ’Mech designs from both the Inner Sphere and the Clans, now fully rebuilt with Dark Age technology (3085 and beyond).

Allowing beloved units redesigned for the BattleTech: Clan Invasion crowd funding campaign to be competitive on “modern” battlefields, this series also includes in-universe development notes, battle histories, notable pilots, and record sheets for each ’Mech. Released as a series of 24 PDF-only documents through the end of 2020 and early 2021, many ’Mechs featured in this series will be collected in print upon its completion.

It made me really nervous.  I had seen the same thing happen with the Robotech kickstarter.   Ever since then I look forward to seeing a "Thanks for the support but we're stopping here," post whenever I do a kickstarter.
