Hmm.  Our coverage of 3067 and 3039 were both gutted with the archive being turned off, so anything out of there would be a good idea.  You can try the Morningstar for the 2nd of July and I'll grab something out of TRO3039 and cover it, most likely.

I'd like to make a request for an Epona article.

Sure, I can do the Morningstar for 07/02.

Kansas City players, or people who are just passing through the area, come join us at the Geekery just off Shawnee Mission Parkway for BattleTech!  Current days are Tuesdays in the afternoon and evening.  I can't make every single week, but odds are pretty good that somebody will be there.

I'm reposting it with a couple of minor updates.

Well, since the schedule is nearly empty, I might as well request: Main Gauche, Stygian and Fortune.

Morningstar article is written up and ready for posting tomorrow.

Depending on circumstances, I might not be able to do another of these for a while (on account of not being on the internet for quite a while).

And then I totally forgot what day I was supposed to post it.  #P

Should I post it (late) or just wait until next week?

Go ahead.  I'm going to be reposting the Oro article Monday by an IM request.

Airship requests: Should they go here, or should I pester someone willing to do a "Fighter" of the Week?

I... don't really know.  I keep my hands off of the fixed-wings by general policy but airships are in an even grayer territory.  Hey, Trace, you want to weigh in here?

Should I have been ranting and wailing about the lack of VOTW articles instead? And what caused the hiatus? Just RL getting in way or something else?

"Ranting and wailing" about volunteers not doing something they do voluntarily, out of the goodness of their hearts rather than compulsion, is commonly held to be counterproductive.

I am completely prepared to accept that you didn't mean to be as brusque as your posted comment came across. But you may want to think about that.

Smileys may help. They won't turn a bad thing into a good thing - eg. "I think XXX's an idiot! :D" doesn't really work - but in a situation such as yours, they do help clarify the emotional intent.

Cheers,

The internet is annoyingly vague, without vocal tones.  But let's please not punctuate, color, bold, italicize, underline, and adjust size and color just to make a point.

That said, what's the plan for the VotW and do you guys need a hand with any?  I might be able to put something together, if I'm needed.

I realize it will be a while, but in case Moonsword has an old article laying around, here are my requests:

  • Demolisher
  • One of the fast attack VTOLs: Donar, Yellow Jacket, Hawk Moth, Mantis
  • Zugvogel
  • And second the request for the Merkava

These articles are great... the whole "X of the Week" series is one of the best features on the site.

Point of order: The Yellow Jacket is not a fast attack VTOL.

I'll talk to Trace about whether or not he wants to look at the Zugvogel or let me do it.  I'll have to look at the others another time.

Demolisher is just that one, the Arrow version, and the Devastator, right?  I think I can take those on.

There's a number of different ones around, actually.  The Gauss and Clan variants for instance.

Right, and then there's the IIs, which are...close enough to the original in concept to be part of the thing.  I'll take a stab at it.

Dangit, I clicked on this thread specifically to request this! Get out of my head, you don't know what it's like in there!

Ah well, might as well provide my rendition of a Soarece VotW:

Have you ever seen some dakka
Packed with dakka on more dakka?
Bigass dakka, long-range dakka
Dakka dakka sploosh.
