Dang it, Mitchell has a Armored Division and the Alacorn lines are not being targeted for removal from New Earth.

he needs Tanks, not semi-mobile bunkers fit only for fixed defenses and parades.

Panpour (Federated Suns)

Colin Blaine had to admit that Walter Ovilla knew how to manufacture weapons of war, and he did not let a flawed product go out the door to a customer. He had seen several Manticore Heavy Tanks fail some portion of quality control which were either fixed no matter how difficult or stripped and then scrapped to be turned into a new Manticore. Plus, he seemed to have the respect of his workers, even spending extra money to add a fourth complete shift worth of workers so that time off and shorter workdays could be provided to his employees. All while maintaining a steady 210 per day average production rate from the massive complex. There were four massive buildings, one where the hulls were assembled, power plants installed and tracks put on, they were then moved to the second building where the turrets were installed, weapons mounted and all the electrical systems were installed, the third building saw paint, final quality control testing and then the fourth building where they were checked once again, ran thru a field testing phase before being prepared for shipping. Each building could hold 100 Manticore at any one time but with the four shifts working each turned out an average of 27 Manticore per shift.

The massive tanks were assembled six abreast across the massive buildings with ample work room provided to keep workers from getting hurt. He had spent a day just watching each step of the operation since he had been here, just trying to learn this side of the business. The actual making of the product to be sold to a paying customer. From the enormous foundry that converted the mountains of raw ores to the testing ranges and then to the packing the 60-ton tanks into shipping containers for transport to the AFFS warehouses. He had been impressed at every step in the process. He looked at the three new large buildings that were almost complete, where already raw metal was being stacked waiting for production to begin on building Heavy Tracked APC, Heavy Wheeled APC and Heavy Hover APC. Each with a planned daily production of 200 each.

The Buhallin and Ulston workers had not been idle as they had pitched in and helped the main production of Manticore wherever they were needed while others helped train the newest hires as best they could on what to expect once actual production started which was planned for June. But today, he had other business to attend to as directed by HPG message.

His car stopped at the main gate to Jalastar Aerospace's just as massive complex and after his identity being confirmed was told where to park and what building to enter. Entering the Corporate Headquarters, he signed in at the front desk and had to wait roughly twenty minutes before being taken to meet Reginald Hawkins, CEO of Jalastar Aerospace.

"Reginald Hawkins, so I finally get to meet someone from the Mackolla Enterprises. I must admit that you folks came out of nowhere and now I seem to constantly see some new acquisition. I do not plan to sell Jalastar Aerospace if that is why your here."

"No sir, simply a business proposal. Colin Blaine, Senior Vice President of Mackolla Enterprises. I am actually here to see about supplying you with weapons. Jalastar seems to be making inquiries for additional weapons or even license agreements for those weapons. I think we can fill that need you seem to have."

"That is all open information. What can you provide and how much can you provide, that is the main question." Reginald Hawkins said

"We can provide everything you need in whatever quantities you need. You make a wide range of products. Condor Hover Tanks, Sparrowhawk, Centurion Aero Fighters, Comet, Meteor, Defender Conventional fighters. While you seem to make all the Sparrowhawk weapons in house, you outsource all the others. Why?" Colin Blaine asked

"License, most want too much for the license. Cheaper to just buy it from them and pay the shipping." Reginald Hawkins replied honestly

"Well, we can provide everything you need. But I would need to get some accurate numbers of how many of each you build to finalize any deal." Colin Blaine said

"We are still ramping up our production for the AFFS but...." He paused and rifled his desk until he found what he was looking for and handed several pages over for Colin Blaine to read instead. "It will be faster this way."

 March 2788 Production

 Condor Hover Tank - 111
 Sparrowhawk - 30
 Centurion - 40
 Comet - 60
 Meteor - 60
 Defender - 60

"Okay, not bad, so we will skip the Sparrowhawk, you already build the weapons in house. So..." Colin Blaine paused as he pulled out a small notepad and started doing some calculating. "We will call it 120 AC-5, 240 Medium Laser, 360 SRM-4, 60 AC-10, 60 SRM-2 and 120 LRM-5. Does that sound right to you sir?"

"That sounds about right, for a single month's production and we are still ramping up. So those numbers are going to go even higher." Reginald Hawkins replied

"Not a problem, we too are still ramping up and rebuilding capacity. But we can handle your current needs easily. We will even assist you in making our models work with your products, no extra charge." Colin Blaine said

"Sixty-three million per month and for the first three months we will cover the shipping costs. Our introductory offer sir, it is a good deal for both of us. Call it a trial offer, you're not happy at the end of the three months and we will part ways. No harm no foul. If your happy, we can sit down and negotiate a longer-term contract that benefits both of us. How does that sound?" Colin Blaine asked

"Sounds a little too good to be true if you want honesty. But I am going to need the first lot pretty quick sir." Reginald Hawkins said

"Then let's get a quick contract written up so everything is all legal like. I need to send a message out as soon as we are done. You will not be disappointed, I promise you." Colin Blaine replied with a smile

Sparrevohn‎‎ (Federated Suns)

The LRM and SRM production lines had been up and running for three weeks after being installed and fine-tuned by her people. This was the first week that they went to maximum production for 200 tons per day as the workers new to the new lines learned their jobs better. But still they had manufactured a decent number with 2,950 tons LRM and 2,950 SRM ammunition worth 168 million, which should bring in about 23 million profits.

New production equipment had been ordered from Achernar Heavy Industries, since Trimble Precision was overloaded with work trying to get everything manufactured that was needed. It would be June before the first equipment arrived and the last would not arrive until August. The best they could buy would only manufacture 100 tons per day, but they were all multipurpose lines that could manufacture any size autocannon round and it was the same for the LRM and SRM equipment. The LBX-10 machinery would have to come from Trimble Precision. So, they had ordered double the number of machines to reach their goals.

 Gulkana (Federated Suns)

Thomas Haminashi had been quicker on the order pad than Helen Froy and had gotten his order into Achernar Heavy Industries ahead of her. He had ordered the best equipment that could be had from them, but it was not close to what he was used to with a maximum production of 50 units per day which had forced him to quadruple the number of machines to reach the goal of 200 per day of every type of autocannon, LRM launcher and SRM launcher. LBX-10 and Streak SRM-2 would have to come from Trimble Precision.

He had been forced to message Gerald Mitchell for more money to handle payment for the extra equipment plus enlarging their factory complex to handle all of the extra machinery. The first machines should arrive mid-May with the last around September. He figured they would be at full production numbers by years end on everything but LBX-10 and Streak SRM-2 launchers.

Devalan (Federated Suns)

Jason Ryan smiled as the Exostar factory purred like a happy kitten now that all the machines were fully operational. Last month had seen a heavy increase in production as production machinery had been returned to service and this month would be the first where every production line was back in action for the entire month. He glanced at the March production numbers and smiled again.

 Exostar Laser Tech March Production

Exostar ER Large Laser - 2,280
 Exostar Large Laser - 2,200
 Martell Medium Laser - 3,500
 Martell Medium Pulse - 2,250
 Exostar Small Laser - 1,500

Worth 678 million with a projected profit margin of 19% for 184 million, and this was just a partial month. He had the order from Colin Blaine on Panpour and it would barely scratch his stockpile. But he was expecting a visit any day from the AFFS Quartermaster, and he hoped they purchased all he had and all he could produce.

This is where it will get interesting.  Once the top bureaucrats realize that the Mitchells are making money hand over fist and won't be going under anytime soon, they're going start making a lot nicer to keep those contracts rolling to feed the AFFS.  This keeps up and Gen Mitchell might find himself as a minor Duke running the Edgeward Beta Combat Theater or at least a portion of it at first.

Mackolla (Federated Suns)

SLS Implacable, Tracker Carrier, was completed and would soon join her two sister ships as she took on her air wing of 24 Zero ZRO-116b and 12 Hammerhead HMR-HE. With only one other Tracker left to convert, Warrant Officer Bart Cooks had slowed the pace down to give the folks on the surface to get the better fighters built to equip his carriers better. The ammunition folks had also busted their butts in getting a production line working to assemble bombs so that the carrier air wings would be able to better support the ground troops when they arrived. Though he did hate the fact that each carrier still had both collars, and he did not have escorting dropships to send with them. This he planned to rectify as soon as he could, but he also had several Merchant Jumpships waiting on new cores which were due to arrive very soon.

Lockheed Galactic was working on two Davion II Destroyers that had arrived with battle damage and had another Congress D waiting to be repaired. Two weeks ago, an AFFS Star Lord had arrived carrying four Mammoth Dropships loaded with replacement armor, spare parts of every size and even replacement weapons. All this told the Lockheed folks was to expect more business from the AFFS Navy in the near future. But it was work that paid the bills, so no one was complaining.

Excellent Electronics had a production line running nonstop making the Streak guidance boards for the Streak SRM-2 ammunition factory and another one building the boards for the Streak SRM-2 Launchers. But their primary tasking had been taking apart the last Large Naval Comm Scanner and working on putting that into production. While the Streaks were familiar, the Naval Comm Scanners were unknown territory, and they had to be extremely careful with every move as they reverse engineered each piece. Unlike most of the projects they had been given, there was no push for speed on this one, take your time and make it perfect was the marching orders given to them.

Trimble Precision Machinery had added four additional lines to handle the workload of the immediate tasking and orders. They had completed Newhart Industries equipment to rebuild their Battlemech lines which had already been installed and the fine-tuning process was underway. It had been a massive order to accomplish, and the additional lines had been the key to getting it completed as fast as they had done. They were currently working on the equipment to restore Buhallin Military Products vehicle lines and still had to start work on Ulston Armor's order.

With 7.6 billion in the bank and a steady monthly stream of income, Gerald Mitchell was once again on the hunt for a steal. He had a major need to fill and determined to fill that need. It was the one piece of this enormous puzzle that had eluded his every effort to purchase and this time he was going to make it happen, no matter the cost. This time, he was changing his method and tactic. But not by much, but enough he hoped to have success where before was only failure, mainly due to the asking prices. But with the situation getting more dire by the day, he was bound to have some success this time.

His first offer went to Riga Interstellar Shipyards, he had previously made an offer to pay all their moving expenses from Inglesmond to Mackolla but had been flat out turned down. But their fortunes had taken a turn for the worst last year, being collocated with LTV Aerospace's shipyards had not been kind to them in the least when the Combine nukes the entire complex. But he had kept up with events as best he could and the Combine was not preventing people from leaving, but they were preventing any equipment from leaving their space. He just hoped they would accept his offer this time and he could get the people out.

His second offer went to Di Tron Heavy Industries, only this time he doubled his previous offer price with a five percent royalty offer. He was willing to go to ten percent royalty if they demanded it, but he was still paying a ton for the license. It would fill a critical need that was becoming more apparent every day.

His third offer went to Krester's Ship Construction, a previous attempt had fallen thru for lack of cash, but now he had the cash and wanted to make another attempt while he had the chance and the cash. It would fill three critical needs.

Panpour (Federated Suns)

Colin Blaine smiled next to Walter Ovilla as they officially opened the Goblin factory complex. This had been intentionally designed to manufacture 400 Goblins per day. It was as large as the Manticore complex. When he had informed the AFFS that they would take up the slack for Goblin production they had signed an open contract and even waived the AFFS discount which would add an additional 8% to the profit margin. It seems the AFFS really wanted them and wanted them bad. He still hated the fact that this made Panpour a massive target along with so much production located at one location. But it could not be helped right now, the Federated Suns could not afford the loss of production while they moved and rebuilt the factories. Plus, Panpour already had a massive infrastructure in place to support the expansions of the existing factory complex.

Hope he has money left for Nicholas Spacecraft, 2ndArc, that would give him the Princess dropship and the Bastion defence station.
Plus naturally, a unknown list of things.

Ulsop Robotics would give you the Vincent.
Blue Nose Clipperships would give you the Liberty jumpship, Lola II, McKenna & Sovetskii Soyuz, Czar & the Clippership V, plus the collar & K-F Boom licence rights. (money maker)
Bowie Industries has the Bug Eye on Wasat, plus a ton of ground units, all over.

O and Nimakachi Fusion Products Limited has the Elephant 96 and thus the Howdah of the SDS, as well.
Too bad those lines can't be gotten, right?

Mammoths on a Potemkin?
Nice if they can pull that one off.

Clyde Shipyards is a repair facility for jumpships & dropships, at Firgrove, which is close by for them.
Might be a idea to buy up in the future, so they can expend it.
Spreading the danger, so to speak, while also creating another upkeep nod for their jumpship fleet to travel too.

Mitchell Vehicles Interstellar has the rights to the Collossus.
Most likely production location, New Earth it's wrecked orbital shipyards.

Time for your Black Navy people to disperse those anti-ship missiles to the carriers.
A few Mule/Jumbo-Q ships with ASF might tip the balance when Combine comes a calling.

Land the Q-ship on the local moon, wait for the enemy warship to move towards planetary orbit and attack from unexpected location.
Mackola system build a mining/ prospecting base.

Panpour seams to be the exposed assets location that will be tough to protect.

Nice updates and thanks for posting.

Cooks is correct on the fighters needed for those carriers. Some Samurai would seem to be both welcome and work wonders in increasing the lethality of those air groups. And now that Gerald is on the hunt once again, no company is safe. Didn't Renault have a production facility somewhere other then Terra? Seems that the Flashman is within his grasp, either that or grab the production rights to the Grasshopper.

Great ride and thanks for helping me pass the time of Milton.

Terra (Terran Hegemony)

Major General Lauren Hayes threw her notepad across her office after Jerome Blake had left. This totally screwed her plans and now she had to rethink everything. She was alone with her anger for twenty minutes before Colonel Tamara Washington, her senior aide lightly knocked on the door.

 "Enter at your own risk."

Colonel Washington slipped inside and closed the door. "I am going to assume from the mess and your attitude that the meeting did not go well."

"Blake has forbidden the 79th and 123rd from being used off Terra. He does not trust them. Both commands have been too vocal in their opposition to what is coming and he caught wind of it. Now our plans for them are scrapped." Major General Hayes said

"Then we come up with a new one and shift the 112th Royal to Caph or has he forbidden that also?" Colonel Washington asked

"No, he is all for denying the advanced equipment to the Houses, but I have to use "loyal" commands for that. The 112th Royal Hussars are slated for a more important mission anyway. I need them to get to Imbrial and possibly pull the 322nd Armored Division out of trouble. I really think the AFFS is setting them up for destruction and that does not sit well with me." Major General Hayes said

"I see no way around the problem then. We might have to go with the original plan but you are going to have to go to South America and sell that to the 79th and 123rd personally. But I also came to deliver these data sticks, I think General Mitchell will find them very useful down the road. It was not easy, but we got them as you requested." Colonel Washington replied as she handed over the data sticks.

"Get me to South America Tamara, I can only hope they agree to this or I am going to be forced to fight them." Major General Hayes said as she accepted the data sticks.

Strong update and thanks for posting.

Looking more and more like Hayes is about to cross a hard line and find herself on the outside, looking in as Blake goes on a whirlwind tour through what is left of the SLDF. Hope she treads carefully. Blake being his usual weasel is comforting to see. Looking forward to seeing what came of Site 222 and here's hoping Patricia is sailing along smoothly.

My ramble is over, great ride and thanks for continuing.

So Blake and his people running Comms has figured out what forces are "loyal" to Terra.

Hayes needs the E4 Mafia to run a screen for her, because no one wants to fight a "Civil War" in South America.

Mackolla (Federated Suns)

Newhart Industries Battlemech factory was finally back into operation. Though it would be a few weeks before the first was completed, just the fact that the production lines were operating was cause for celebration. Though numbers would be lower than possible due to training all the new local employee's it was estimated that they should hit peak production within a year, possibly two. The new manufacturing equipment was only a step below that found on Terra itself, fully automated on all but the most intricate parts of the assembly itself. Planning had also dictated additional production lines, having been assigned the license for the Crab CRB-27 series.

 Newhart Battlemech Factory

Spider SDR-5Vb - One Line - Estimated Monthly Production 24 Total
Hussar HSR-200-Db - One Line - Estimated Monthly Production 24 Total
Guillotine GLT-3N - Two Lines - Estimated Monthly Production 12 Total
Crab CRB-27 - Two Lines - Estimated Monthly Production 20 Total
Crab CRB-27b - Two Lines - Estimated Monthly Production 20 Total

The Crab CRB-27 was selected as the Battlemech to be offered to the AFFS for purchase at the present time due to the fact that not all available Battlemech pilots did not have rides. It was estimated to need three months of production of the other lines to fill their own ranks and then they could decide on what to offer the AFFS. The Crab CRB-27 would be offered at 4 million each with an estimated monthly revenue of 80 million and estimated profit margin of 11% for a monthly profit of 8.8 million with a 10% royalty fee of 880,000 for Cosara Weaponries.

The Aerospace Division had finally installed two production lines to manufacture the Samurai SL-25 and SL-26. The Samurai SL-25 was to be offered to the AFFS at 2.4 million for purchase while the SL-26 would remain for their own use while two lines were still being manufactured to bring the Hellcat HCT-213N to production for the AFFS for 3.4 million. It was an inhouse variant created from the blueprints that came with the production license. It carried 16 double heat sinks, 11.5 tons of Ferro-Aluminum armor, it was armed with two Large Laser in the nose and kept the other weapons the same. Actual performance should remain the same.

 Newhart Aerospace Factory

Trident TRN-3Tb2 - Three Lines - Monthly Production 36 Total
Samurai SL-25 - One Line - Estimated Monthly Production 20 Total
Samurai SL-26 - One Line - Estimated Monthly Production 20 Total
Hellcat HCT-213N - Two Lines - Estimated Monthly Production 18 Total
Ironside IRN-SD1X - Hand Build - Monthly Production 3 Total
Hammerhead HMR-HE - Hand Build - Monthly Production 3 Total

With their current Aerospace units reaching full strength and larger fighters now reaching them, the Trident TRN-3Tb2 was being offered to the AFFS at full production rate for 2.4 million each.

Not far away Blow/Hookson Technologies was running three production lines for the Zero ZRO-116b while also waiting on additional manufacturing equipment to install two lines for the Ironside IRN-SD1X but also two lines for the Hammerhead HMR-HE. Currently being hand assembled at Newhart Industries factory, but the licenses had been assigned to Blow/Hookson Technologies since they were the first up and running. Production of the Ironside would not begin until the end of the year and the Hammerhead early 2789.

 Blow/Hookson Technologies

Zero ZRO-116b - Three Lines - Monthly Production 54 Total
Ironside IRN-SD1X - Two Lines planned - Estimated Production 20 Total
Hammerhead HMR-HE - Two Lines planned - Estimated Production 12 Total

Currently none would be offered for sale to the AFFS, all slated to fully fill out and replace the numerous Trident that made up the Aerospace compliments. Talks had been had about assigning the last license held to Blow/Hookson but no decision had been made yet on the Hellcat II license.

Buhallin Military Products was just starting the process of installing the heavy machinery brought over from TechniCorp purchase, while also finishing the testing process on their new Turhan lines which would be offered to the AFFS at 1.3 million each. They would also be manufacturing Goblin (SLDF) for their own use with the TechniCorp equipment. Their workers sent to Panpour were already on their way back after a few months on Panpour.

Turhan - Three Lines - Estimated Monthly Production 150 Total
Goblin (SLDF) - Two Lines - Estimated Monthly Production 100 Total

Ulston Armor was still waiting on their new manufacturing so that they could restart their Thor Artillery production but also, they would be waiting on equipment to manufacture Manticore Heavy Tanks under license from TechniCorp. Their orders delayed by the push to get the ammunition production up to full speed and other sudden priorities, but they were up next.

Gerald Mitchell was quite pleased with the progress being made on all fronts, but he was elated when Di Tron Heavy Industries accepted his offer for the production rights for the Dictator and Titan Dropship with the 5% royalty for 700 million. He still had no word from his other offers, but this gave him hope that his other offers would be accepted. He had no news from Imbrial but talks with General Paul Jefferson had convinced him to offer the Spider and Hussar to the AFFS, which would bring in an additional 240 million in revenue per month and roughly 24 million in profit for Newhart Industries. He couldn't help but laugh to himself at the very modest amounts when it came to the Aerospace fighters and the Battlemechs compared to TechniCorp on Panpour. Battlemechs might rule the battlefield but they damn sure were not serious moneymakers compared to building tanks which could be done in numbers that defined belief.

Numbers that "defined" belief is both hilarious and apropos!  :D

More seriously, if Davion gets a whiff of those production numbers, there's going to be a "TAKE MY MONEY!" moment... ;D

This build up going crazy, I keep thinking the ComStar SLDF forces of Terra going raid or have elements of 322nd's garrison force on Mackolla sudden up and grab factories to haul them back to Terra.

Marvelous update and thanks for posting.

Gerald has indeed cemented his status as MVP of this operation. Now if he can just sneak a little bit of production equipment over to Morgan's Holdfast, then they are truly cooking. What did they do with that Nighthawk tooling?

Thanks for keeping the ride going.

I want to say they kept them, secreted somewhere, but I don't recall ...

I don't think it's been stated yet.
