Side torso destruction and carrying BA.
« on: 10 December 2024, 02:40:13 »
Just a weird question that popped into my head, but if an Omnimech loses a side torso from damage, does this impact its ability to carry a battle armor squad in any way?

I would think so since each torso can carry two Armored Infantry.

Well I'm going to have to bookmark that one for future use.  I'm trying to also formulate a mental image BA clinging to some small piece of metal or precariously slug bungee.

Imagine a Stooping Hawk, already a rather slender mech, with no side torsos left as it transports a point of Elementals.  Better hope everyone involved is on really good terms with each other.

No the BAs can still ride the damaged mech.

So depending on the faction, you could have Battlearmor personnel whose main orders are to jump on a Battlemech to provide the extra armor points as needed.

Think it as the other way, sir! Why the maximum armor point of a medium BA is 10? That's because it IS a modular armor of its own! Is it really a coincident that both weights 1ton each and have the same armor point? :p

Yes, it's just a coincidence.  The Battle Armor 10-point armor weight is much less than one ton.

And it's not the point.
