Can we all just take a moment to reflect on the blurb in the Beowulf IIC entry that described a Clan Frontline Galaxy using C3i equipped Omnis?

 [AAAH]

A proper warrior uses every tool at his disposal. C3i allows every warrior an equal chance at glory by giving him all the information he needs at his fingertips.

I liked the mentions of just how far the Republic was willing to go to protect itself.

I want to know who is responsible for the monster that is the Castrum pocket warship.

Jellico was certainly very helpful catering to an extensive wish-list. [notworthy]

Can we expect MDWA Cyclops and Daishi in the future too?

Those may be relegated to the realm of RS. In fact, I believe 3145 NTNU's Daishi E may represent the MWDA figure.

I was certainly surprised to see all of the DA 'mechs, though. Certainly wasn't expecting to see them. If I have one complaint, it's that certain variants mentioned in the (very well written) fluff weren't included in the record sheets at the back - maybe in a unabridged PDF product down the road?

Basically, if the RS doesn't exist, then the unit never existed - even as a prototype - in universe. But pray tell me which ones you were thinking of!

What a pain it was to make that monstrosity fit on the record sheet.

You are a scholar and a gentleman. Truly.

the entry implied that was what the Scapha was.

O0

Actually it's a dead world by 3130

The Valiant fluff would imply some time before then.

Most of the units are not unique and you can plausibly encounter them in your campaigns.
The best part however is that almost all entries make logical and believeable connections to other designs
and in universe events making it a real gem to read.

Those go hand in hand. The progression of TRO Prototypes to TRO 3145 makes the niche of the XTRO a difficult one for 32nd century settings. This XTRO should hopefully be able to showcase the increasing normalcy of TRO Prototypes technology while also filling a "TRO hole" between the aforementioned TROs.

I would have loved to have seen the original version of the Hexareme.  Even as nitch patrol boat, still think it's under armed.  HQ ship's fine, but you have 80 ton command ship already.  Give me the guns.  }:)

Ah, this ties in to GreekFire's comment. There never was an original version. Everything attempted even in theory was discarded before even the first prototype was constructed.

The two that I was thinking of were the Hatchetman (although I just realized that the whole swapping arms bit referred to left/right arms, not different weapon pods... my bad -_-;; ) and the Enforcer III (reference to non-command Enforcer IIIs with no CASE II, maybe other changes).

Seriously though, congrats on a smashing XTRO. This one knocked it out of the park.

Seconding the dumptruck. Also hoping to see the variant Blade with twin cannon arms; I've had my own ideas about what I'd do with it, so they're probably waaaaay off.

I guess we now know what happened to those left behind Horses - they ran into Devlin Stone and decided to become Clan Stone's Lions. Or just Clan Stone.

Man, this might be my favorite XTRO. Not just because the designs are cool (although they're really cool), but because so many of them were actually produced in substantial numbers. They can appear in battles without being the focus of the battle! Hell, the Roadrunner can be used as the Emerald Harrier at pretty much any point since the Golden Century!

yeah, this is definitely more of a miniature TRO: 3120 than a typical XTRO

that's sad :(
I'll not miss the Daishi, but MWDA Cyclops not being canonized makes me very sad. The mini is one of my favorites in that game and it looks a lot better than the original Cyclops. As far as I know, the best way to match the stats and the mini is using clan tech. We all know how XTROs have a thing for mixed tech. Please, CGL! Make this happen!

Congrats for this XTRO, by the way. It is by far my favorite of them all.

I like it, it's got more firepower and armor then ships 5 times its size like a Destroyer. It's what a pocket warship should be.

You're quoting the wrong post. I was reassuring caioaf that the MWDA Daishi wasn't being decanonized.

I got that, but I should be clearer I was talking about MWDA Cyclops getting its visuals canonized. You know, getting a Plog's piece of art and all.

It doesn't need further canonization. It's already part of the universe. But yeah, I'd like to see proper line art of it.

Noticed (for me) perhaps some new entries on the Coming Attractions list.
New Entries i think are;

Jihad Turning Points: Arcturus (E-Publication) - This could be when the Word of Blake attacked Chandrasekhar Kurita's base for his hired mercenaries.

Experimental Technical Readout: Succession Wars II (E-Publication)

The dossier indicates that it was a FCCW field refit. The light engine freed up all of the tonnage needed or the weapon changes. It still has light armor. This is coming from the base Z model from 3039. The second versions was a custom of the other one. Looking at my notes, the dossier matches the mini well enough.

I was under impression that Dark Age minis' visuals were canon only if they had proper art in Battletech books.

oh, that's it. I was using a XL engine. I couldn't allocate the XL + (LRM or PPC) + UAC 20 in any of the side torsos using IS tech only.

In XTRO: Republic I, I liked the bit that further hinted that the news of the death of Clan Nova Cat may have been premature. Unlike the Smoke Jaguars, there are still some communities of Nova Cats, so perhaps the Clan will rise again.

XTR Republic is dated ca. 3120, prior to the events of the 3145 Field Manual and Era Reports in which the Nova Cats were declared dead.

I could've sworn there are post-3145 mentions of Nova Cat holdouts.
