I got one for you MA.

Enforcer-4R(]b\modified)
A PPC replaces the AC/10, 4 medium lasers replaces the large laser and 1 medium laser replaces the small laser. Heat sinks increased to 17 and armor up to 10.5 tons[/b].

The Pilot
Mechwarrior Christopher (Kal) Kalthud
Born and raised in the Pleiades Cluster. Specializes in urban combat. 9 year veteran of the AFFS.

Canon units only, gentlemen.  This is the third time I've said that.  I'd be happy to put you down in an Enforcer -4R--but it will be the basic showroom model, I'm afraid.

take your pick, just as one can mix and match on wep loadout for the infantry.

Fun... though afraid you'll have to swap those Badgers out - no Omni.

Not OMNI. Standard Merc fixed weps version sold by Blackwell.

It's not my place to make the final decision, but I have never heard of a non-Omni version, nor any description anywhere that indicates otherwise.

Some relevant rules from What should be our regimental manual

4. Close air support covereth a multitude of sins.
6. If violence wasn’t your last resort, you failed to resort to enough of it.
13. Do unto others.
20. If you're not willing to shell your own position, you're not willing to win.

And of course, one of the prime rules

37. There is no 'overkill.' There is only 'open fire' and 'I need to reload.'
Good news is the lab boys say the symptoms of asbestos poisoning show an immediate latency of 44.6 years. So if you're thirty or over you're laughing. Worst case scenario you miss out on a few rounds of canasta, plus you've forwarded the cause of science by three centuries. I punch those numbers into my calculator, it makes a happy face.

the non-Omni Badger I pulled from HeavyMetal many, many moons ago.
I've never thought to cross check it against the MUL.
-mea culpa-

I think that 3 Packrat LRPV PKR-T5 (SRM2) vehicles would be acceptable.

Ooo... I've forgotten  about the Packrat with a 3 ton infantry bay. With us being a pre-3050 unit, we won't be employing BA for quite a while, which makes this an excellent alternate choice next to APCs for squishy ferrying.

Here's an all-hover armor regiment. A bit on the small size with each company acting independently. There's no battalions in the regiment.

I'd recommend 3 more company sized units. Why?
Because 10 companies = an ACW Confederate regiment.

that said, during the 1861-1865 ACW; new, early-war companies were 90-110 men each.
Recommended strength was 1,025 men to a regiment.
by mid-war, companies averaged 60-70 men.
by Appamattox, whole regiments were down to 100 men or less.

So it would be perfectly reasonable to have a 10 company regiment with varying numbers of vehicles to each company.

I'm using the current British Army structure where there are 5-7 companies per regiment. My regiment is comprised of HQ Company (3 combat platoons + 1 HQ Plt (Staff sections [S-1 thru s-4]), 5 Line companies and a quartermaster company.

Nobody knows where the Mechwarrior/Pilot calling himself Attumen hails from but the man certainly has quality equipment. On the ground he runs his opponents down in a FLC-4Nb Falcon of very uncertain pedigree while in the air he rides a TRB-d46 Thunderbird that gives his opponents nightmares.

If you need more light mech pilots stick him in his Falcon but if you decide to go with PC support forces I'll run as a ASF pilot.  You can even make me multi-role if you want.

J. Kellogg Lantern was a young man living in the Taurian Concordat.  While his older brother was destined to became a Mechwarrior, riding in the family Mech, he was magnanimous enough to teach him the ropes of Mech piloting.  In the meantime, though, J. Kellogg Lantern became part of the technical staff for a militia vehicle unit.

Being a rabid bibliophile and passable autodidact, Lantern became a man of no small amount of education, and began to crave a little more excitement.

In retrospect, probably a stupid thing to wish for, as that is when some VERY confused pirates attacked.  Looking for passable technical staff, they managed to capture Lantern and haul him off world.

His escape from the pirates in the Federated Suns was due largely to luck and a patently improbable series of circumstances, and netted him a Battlemech of his very own, a rickety BJ-1 Blackjack which he dubbed "Tartuffe" (reflecting its disreputable origins).  After sending off an HPG message to his family, he then embarked on a life of adventure, entering mercenary service.
I'm not sure how long you've been around on the forums, though you have a thousand posts. Never take anything JKlantern says seriously unless it's about food.

Forty-three!!!  Working on four companies now.

So far we have 7 Light, 14 Medium, 13 Heavy, and 9 Assault.  Average weight of ~60.58 tons--which puts us squarely in the middle of the heavy classification as a unit (since Heavy Lances start out at 201 tons and end at 280 tons; our average 'lance' weight would work out at somewhere around 242 tons).  Our average 'walk' is 4.79--which ain't bad considering we have three 100-ton 3/5'ers, one 80-ton 3/5'er, and one 30-ton 2/3'er!

Don't worry about ASF or Infantry or Armor--I'm taking some of your suggestions to heart on those, but I'll fill in the blanks.  For right now, dear friends, let us concentrate on getting the 2nd Battalion filled out.

Perhaps we should consider two (2) characters/mechs each?

I know that for many of us, we have more than one "signature" mech.  Allowing two might let us show a wider view of our selves.

Certainly--I've already allowed Grognard two, so why not?  Grognard, you aren't allowed another.  But everyone else may pick a second 'Mech.

EDIT:  If you choose to accept a 2nd 'Mech, please make it a different weight class.  No superheavies allowed, although LAMs are.

Oh, and I missed two volunteers (an Enforcer and a Griffin.  Both have now been added--so we are at 45!
