Lake Stevens, WA (Oct. 28, 2020) – Catalyst Game Labs has named Aaron Cahall the assistant line developer for the BattleTech tabletop game, the company announced today.

In addition, Catalyst would like to congratulate CamoSpecs, the official BattleTech painting team, for their recent selection of Matt Frederiksen for the role of coordinator.

Cahall has been the BattleTech Line Editor since 2018, during which time he has played a key role in polishing new products, helping writers and developers establish and meet deadlines, and communicating BattleTech news to customers and fans under the direction of Line Developer Ray Arrastia.

“I’m pleased to be able to continue supporting Ray and the entire BattleTech team during this exciting time for the game,” Cahall said. “I’ve been a BattleTech fan for a long time, but it’s the people involved in making it who have come to mean even more to me. I’m looking forward to moving into the new ilClan era alongside them.”

As assistant line developer, he will continue working closely with the BattleTech writing and development teams, ensure project milestones are set and met, and act as a first point of contact for both BattleTech contributors and fans. He will maintain his editing and communications duties, with an eye toward recruiting new talent in those areas.

“From his very first edit, of Interstellar Operations back in 2015, Aaron has shown a deep understanding of BattleTech, and contributed across nearly all aspects of the game, from sourcebook and fiction writing, to editing, to development,” said Arrastia. “He has become a valued asset to Catalyst and to the BattleTech team, and I’m excited to welcome him to this new role.”

Frederiksen has been a member of the CamoSpecs team since 2009, and is known for organizing the annual CamoSpecs GenCon Diorama.

“It’s an absolute honor to be chosen to lead such a group of talented artists. The skills they put on display constantly blow me away,” said Frederiksen. “I very much look forward to working with the team to grow the BattleTech universe and fanbase, including through a revamped CamoSpecs.com website.”

As coordinator, he will oversee the CamoSpecs team’s development, including the recruitment of new artists and the digital promotion of the team’s work. The CamoSpecs team’s jaw-dropping work can be found online at www.camospecs.com.

“The GenCon dioramas Matt coordinates are an annual highlight of GenCon for every BattleTech fan that stops by to see the intricate level of detail and storytelling present in every inch,” said Arrastia. “His understanding of the power of digital and social media tools has expanded CamoSpecs’ reach more than ever before, and placed the team’s work on the stage it deserves.”
